It always breaks my heart to hear about a band or a website or anything for the first time because of abuse.

 

Dunno if I was missing much.

 

Is this the first time Gabby posted about this publicly? I remember reading that post by the accuser, who also posted about Gabby on some FB event pages when Bellows and Told Slant came through portland so I was hesitant about some epoch stuff but maybe I just wasn't following super closely

 

That page is just full of them. Weird.

 

Yeah, I saw the posts years ago but Gabby continued to ignore the person. Her breakdown of what happened seems very real and troubling, those screenshots definitely read more like blackmail than accountability.

likely what the band said rather than an off the cuff remark from Nandi I'd guess

 

if they are actually truly holding off on doing anything and are privately in contact with the victim and abiding by their wishes and the quote from the stereogum article is inaccurate then that's great. i just really hope that they're not simply waiting until they think everyone has forgotten / become apathetic about the situation to "re-emerge".

Out of interest, do you know what things they are meant to have done? As someone who enjoys their music but is finding it difficult to align with their terrible actions I am curious.

I don’t support or condone this band’s actions but this seems very extreme to just throw out the way you did.

 

doesn't seem surprising to me given what we known and the culture of the music industry especially the touring side of things

 

He didn’t just throw it out lol. It’s been a fairly open secret at least to the point of him being unfaithful almost religiously every tour. I can’t verify the underage girls part but the dude is a piece of garbage.

 

Not denying he’s garbage. The worst part is most of his lyrics are about his marriage/daughter. Can’t believe I ever gave that band money.

 

Interesting. Well I'll keep it in mind, I'm not going to just take it as gospel since it's like fourth hand info, but I'll keep an eye out for anything I see about this. Cheers.

 

I wouldn't just toss it out there without believing it. I was told that by a very reliable source and they used to be one of my favorite bands. The whole thing is just fucking vile and extremely disappointing
