I also enable delivery and read confirmation for all my emails in outlook for work. It keeps people accountable and it covers my ass if anyone tries to say I didn’t send them something or they never read my email. Read receipts is an extension of that. Everyone should enable them.

I hate read receipts unless absolutely necessary. In my line of work I can read a message and then get stuck on an hour call, and if there's a read receipt it becomes "You had an hour to respond and didn't" when there's clearly a good reason I couldn't.

 

But if it's related to something that needs to get done I'm all for em, it's good to know that something is (or should be) being addressed, I just don't wanna have any of those "Why didn't you respond yet" conversations because fuck that
