I see the Browns made a small move for some CB depth. Like Stephenson, it’s another body.

 

The Texans having my dream team of Colvin/Mathieu will hurt until it comes time for them to actually play. Then it won't hurt so much.

but hes not the Mathieu he was 2-3 years ago

8.5 Million signing bonus (divided evenly over 3 years =2.833 per year)

18 Salary 900k(fully guaranteed) + 2.833 = 3.733MM cap hit

19 Salary 6.75MM (1MM guaranteed) + 2.833 = 9.583MM cap hit

20 SALARY 7.25MM (0 guaranteed) +2.833 = 10.083 cap hit

Team will have option to cut him and save 7.25MM in cap space in final year if he under performs.

We have a much better cap situation next offseason so I’m ok with the jump next year. And if he doesn’t work out we can cut him year 3. We still have room to spend this year because of how this is structured.
