I'm saying they shouldn't have "their guy". Tyrod is their starter this year. They are grooming whoever they take. There are three great prospects at QB and you're not starting him this year anyway. Just wait.

There are. Rumors are they want Josh Rosen (Buffalo) and Josh Allen (multiple). If Barkley is there at 4 then that works out exceptionally well for them but that requires New York and Indy both trading down prior to the draft.

It's not smaller than the difference between Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield.

If the Browns only like 1 QB they should take him at 1. Even if we all think 3 QB's are about the same, it doesn't mean they think they are interchangeable. RB class is deep and no matter how good a RB Barkley is he will never be more valuable than a potential top 10 NFL Qb would be.

    Jimmy Graham does not stink

Jimmy Graham also isn't great anymore. He cannot run.

He will be good with Rodgers though

Yeah, he's still gonna be one of the best redzone weapons in the NFL.

This is weird logic. Being first overall has no bearing on you being a top ten QB. RB class is deep but there are teams who could throw a wrench in that. The QB class is deep and they are guaranteed one of the top prospects.

What I am saying is just because you think the 3 prospects are equal doesn't mean the Browns do. They may have Darnold or Allen or Mayfield in a tier all by themselves. We are going off stuff McShay and Mayock are saying but they have to trust their own scouts.

  12. I agree with all three points

is he gonna put up the numbers he did with Brees in 2013-2014 - of course not

but he's gonna get 10+ TDs in the Packers offense and I think he'll get his ypc back up over 10

    The rivalry is back on

As a fan, I feel great saying that I feel similarly about all 3 top QBs and that Josh Allen is bad, so they should wait until 4 and take the leftovers.

As the Browns GM, my job hinges upon me finding a franchise QB, so I don’t want to leave that to chance if I have a preference.

I never said equal. All the draft analysts say they got Darnold first (or Allen lol). I'm just talking about what they should do. If this ends with them taking Josh Allen first you can except a dead crow hand delivered to all of your homes.

Good chance at least 1, maybe 2, of those guys bust. Not something Browns should let other teams decide for them, don't want to be tied to a QB taken in the top 5 by circumstance instead of by choice.

I just don't get it. I've been hearing all year about what a great draft class this is for QBs. If the dropoff between Mayfield and the next QB prospect is really THAT substantial, is this class really that much better than Trubisky/Mahomes/Watson could be? Or Goff/Wentz? I was told the Texans shouldn't have traded up for Deshaun Watson who was playing lights out because the next class was so much better. Now looking at how this team played without him I'm certain we'd be picking #2 overall had we not drafted him, and all of a sudden there's the exact same number of options for QB? And the team that let Watson go should be considering a RB instead?

I really wanted Watson. About died when the Browns traded up out of the spot last year.

Oh no, Allen is an option. And Lamar too. But I don't take either of them 1st overall. Rosen/Darnold are the only two worth considering 1st. Mayfield is there because the Browns GM and draft analyst both have leveled HIGH praise for him before taking the Browns job.

So let's look at this differently:

Let's say I'm the Browns GM and Josh Rosen is the QB I want. He's the guy I want to build my franchise around. Do I draft him at #1 overall? Or do I wait and draft Barkley and then get Mayfield at #4 when there's the potential Johnny Manziel omen?

  23. the only good situation for Jordy Nelson is the Patriots and even then I'm more convinced Jordy is going to be more post-Colts Reggie Wayne than post-Niners Jerry Rice.

Whereas if I'm the Browns GM and Lamar Jackson is the only QB I want, I'd maybe draft Barkley #1 and maybe even draft Jackson #4, because fuck it, why risk Lamar Jackson going at #7/11/15 amongst a QB frenzy anyway?

I just feel like we're looking at the Browns, a team who has SO many picks that they don't know what to do with them, and all of a sudden turning that into a handicap and forcing them to pick players instead of treating it like a luxury.
