Interestingly, this might be one of the moves the Patriots truly bungled....because the original speculation was Cooks for Butler (and instead they gave up a 1st). And now Butler is leaving them

 

Reserving judgment on the Lotulelei news until I see numbers. At the very least, Beane and McDermott know him very well and it should be a seamless transition into the defense. Would love to see Kyle Williams next to him for one more year while they draft a disruptive guy to groom.

 

Trading him doesn't help the cap situation until after the Wednesday deadline though, if he's traded it means other moves need to be made

 

Good point, I never even thought about that. I'm not sure what they are waiting for than.

 

They can cut Celek or rework his deal and keep Curry and trade him later. There isn't this huge rush that you seem to think now that Lane's deal is reworked.

 

I dont know why youre stuck on Richardson. Matthews and Lee would be better. Shit I like John Brown more too. Jordan Matthews is the only guy who can be a possession WR so I'd be good to go for him.

Lee has been more healthy lately and he does make adjustments. He won't make a contested catch but neither will ANY of the guys you mentioned except Matthews, and even still he can be streaky and kinda soft at the catch point despite being 6'3".

Chark wasn't exactly Demaryius Thomas bailing out Tim Tebow. I already knew you were gonna blame it all on Etling which is why I addressed that in my first post

I don't think you've actually watched Paul Richardson is you think he's a worse fit for us than Lee. Or Chark for that matter. He's still a raw prospect for sure but if we keep Lee then we need a guy like Chark.

 

5'9" Albert Wilson getting 8m per season makes Torrey Smith at 5m seem better.

I'm not bashing Wilson. My point is 5m for Smith is not bad.

 

Would really like the Panthers to keep him. He comes to my job and gives me money. I like that and would like that to continue to happen.

I mean, no. I don’t get that one either. But Torrey Smith is brutal. You really shouldn’t expect much from him.
