The three songs so far are three of their best songs ever imo. I’m so glad they’re pushing their sound.

Pyramids Of Salt had the same effect on me that Devil In My Bloodstream and Cigarettes & Saints had when they were released before the album dropped, all 3 have made me think "I cant believe how far this band has come". I wish I could go back to 17 year old Ken as he was downloading the leaked version of The Upsides and say "yo just wait till 2018 when they release their best song"

 

yeah i can't believe this is the band i saw open for The High Court(?) and play songs about the kool aid man ten years ago, i can't think of a remotely comparable career trajectory

 

I'm not really into this one, I think the album has a whole will be great, and I think I need the context of the whole thing with these songs

 

The High Court! Forgot all about them. Part of me thought them or Bright & Early would get bigger. Thankfully it was TWY that became the big band out of all that

 

omg, on my side, i hadn't thought of Bright & Early in ages! which also reminds me of Single File, which is certainly gonna dictate my listening today lol

 

Even with money being tight, I feel so good about my pre-order of this album because these songs are fuckin QUALITY

 

Song was a little off putting to me at first but the more I listen the more I really like it.

 

I like the song but the production on this and their last record is really off-putting.

 

i thought the production on this song and the title track was great. its much clearer. WLLL is harder to tell because its a vinyl rip but even that rip sounds pretty good. its much easier to hear the 3 guitars and nicks keys, josh is also much more audible. dan sounds mixed well and not overpowering, kennedy has pretty much always sounded great on all their albums.

 

the production on NCTH was subpar but the new songs sound fine, i dont get the complaints at all. what's off putting about the extremely straightforward production?

Hit play on that clip and it's like negative bitrate lol can't tell what's going on at all. Wouldn't recommend listening if you're on the fence.
