yeah, this record is 100% a recreation of the band based on these three songs, and i'm all here for it

This sounds wonderful on recording, especially the bridge, but picturing how it'll sound live has me super excited

 

First listen : I wasn't too sure about the chorus but oddly enough it started to make sense after I'd heard the bridge.
Otherwise, holy shit those vocals! And love the atmospheric synth effects! It works real well. Still processing it tho

I didn't want to listen to anything else after "Sister Cities" and "We Look Like Lightning", but, based on the reaction to this, I'm not sure I can resist.

okay the thing that bothered me is that one bit just at the start of the chorus, the arrangement+note progression in the first "I drew a line". My brain went "oh god please don't let this turn into an imagine dragons song" but then it was okay. I can overlook it because the song fucking RIPS holy shit but I think that bit will keep giving me palpitations for the time being.

Imagine that live though.

 

When it gets upbeat and the drum beat really goes I get a jimmy eat world vibe

 

If it helps, I haven't listened to We Look Like Lightning because I'm waiting for a studio release.

I'd say go for it.

Yeah I think it's safe to say this album is going to be pretty unlike anything we've heard from this band. I'm blown away.

 

The way that chorus unfolds into that massive ending. Jeez, man. They went for something completely different and nailed it.
