The main reason I post pointless updates on my cover is to get the thread moved back up to the top. haha But yeah, don't know if the sticky thing would work out.

I doubt we'd qualify for a sticky, but tbh I think out of all the threads in the music forum we're the one that makes the most sense. We're the only thread actively looking to expand or trying to catch people's attention. Every other thread in the music forum is dedicated to a specific band or album haha. If those threads aren't popular, it's not because people aren't aware of their existence, it's just that they don't care. It's a totally different story when pretty much any time we get posted about in the front page, people comment saying they wished they had known about the thread. Only other thread that would make sense is the one for self promotion.

Anyway, now I'M rambling. Haha.

 

On it! Haha I've been pretty ahead on things lately, so I'd do a second cover if I didn't get hit with sickness today. Maybe one day I'll achieve the coveted "two songs in a few weeks" title. A sickly boy can dream

Maybe funny story (but probably not), but my grandma on my moms side is very "giving", and me and my dad went to Nebraska in April to get a car from her, and every time we drive home to NC from there she insists on giving us a lot of random stuff. We've taken home a 42 inch tv, $800 in loose change, and on this trip, about 6-8 good sized boxes of canned foods including at least 40-50 cans of chicken noodle soup. haha Time to dig into those I think.

 

hahaha that is a good story. yeah, dig those soups out! you'll probably lose a lot of weight if you eat ONLY all that soup, but boy will you feel better! haha

 

I don't know if it's obvious by my profile photo, but I don't have much weight to lose I don't think. hahah Hopefully I feel better. Gotta do a lot of stuff tomorrow.

 

Tracked drums, guitar and bass yesterday (That's right folks, this one is my first proper full band cover). Doing vox and backing vox on Monday to hopefully have it in by the end of next week!

 

I came home from work today with the intent to record the vocals to my Lit cover. You know how some days just aren't good vocal days? Today is one of those days...

But that's ok! Because I was noodling around on my guitar and ended up recording my second cover!

I could get behind any of those. Instead of Circa Survive it could just be Anthony Green (stuff from Saosin, CS, solo, TSoAF, etc).

I would find something to do for any of the others you mentioned (that I didn't quote)... just not big enough fans to instantly know what song to do. I'd have to really delve into their works...

 

Yeah, making it a more broad Anthony Green theme could be fun. I will echo your Fall Out Boy one for sure, I'm amazed it hasn't happened already since they're like the other Brand New on this site. Haha I honestly haven't listened to any of the others you listed (other than Coheed who I love, just feel no confidence in covering.haha). But I'm sure they'd go over well since I see a lot of praise for those bands on here.

Edit: also Brand New I loved for a little while, but haven't really listened to them in awhile.

i really pushed for an STD comp, but no one seemed very interested. we were also thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis close to a Death Cab one once, but then it became the Fall Music one, haha.

 

Man, I would think Saves the Day would be a popular choice. Let's do a Frick/But, I'm Fine Saves the Day split EP because old AP users just lessened my faith in old AP users. hahaha

You know, if I get some down time I might actually work on some Saves covers if the interest really isn't wide enough for a full compilation. Chris writes some of the most honest songs I've ever heard, and I'd like to pay tribute to that in some way. I don't listen to the band a ton, but his writing definitely is influencal to mine.
