How do you like living in Philly?

 

@sophos34 does you gerbil ever just sit there staring at you for an uncomfortably long period of time? Both of mine do that to me. Hahaha

 

it has its ups and downs, the city itself is kinda dirty but its interesting and theres a ton of cool shit to do here, the area i live in is pretty chill, but being a recovering drug addict ive had a really hard time with how easy it is to just go up to kensington and buy whatever drugs i want but ive been clean from heroin for over a year

 

yes my little boy stares me down especially when hes hungry

 

now that i have a job and wont be home as much i gotta buy another gerbil to keep mine happy, im gonna have to do the split cage method of introduction and i hope it works

this is a hard one though because there's no single *best* produced song. so ill post a few of my favorites from recent years

 

@sophos34 did you feel a huge sense of relief and freedom when you finally moved out of Missouri? Do you miss anything about STL that's not family/friends related?

 

kind of but i get home sick a ton. mostly because of friends and family but there are things i miss like easy access to a ton of hiking trails, my old college campus, the free zoo and all of forest park, my favorite venues like the pageant and the ready room, and honestly i miss living in the suburbs compared to living in the city

 

oh and people in st louis arent as bad of drivers as they are in philly, i feel like every time i get in my car here im bound to have one or two meltdowns from people driving like complete fucking assholes

 

there's some good hiking only about an hour out of the city, but I have no idea how close the hiking trails were to you in Missouri.

I think it's safe to say there are bad drivers anywhere people are driving.

 

i was a 10-15 minute drive from like 20+ hiking trails in missouri haha but me and my girlfriend have driven a bit and checked out a couple here, we're planning on doing more this spring and summer since we love hiking


there are bad drivers everywhere but they are way more abundant in philly compared to other places ive been

 

I can definitely make some suggestions if you're willing to travel a bit. There's some good hiking and climbing not too far from me in the Reading area (Hawk Mountain, Nolde Forest, Birdsboro Quarry) and then there's really neat areas like the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, the Delaware Water Gap, Ricketts Glenn, Jim Thorpe area (those are bigger, more weekend type trips), but Valley Forge has some nice trails and so does French Creek state park.
