Tbh I'm grateful it's only The Hotelier, I bet if we were waiting on a stream for a TWIABP record they'd tweet something like this then drop a Blink cover album or something

 

I know a lot of my posts in this thread may come off as hyperbolic, but I can't stop reiterating my excitement. This record could honestly determine whether or not I have a new favorite band. Maybe thats an unfair weight to put on this record, I don't know, but if I love the rest of the songs as much as I love Piano Player and Goodness Pt 1 thats not really an exaggeration.

 

Would rather have that than the crappy Pandora premier that saosin was on ha

 

I know so many people have said this already, but wow what a great year for music. This year I've heard more music that I love more than any other year in my life I'm pretty sure (granted this is the first time I've ever participated in any websites forums, so that helps a lot). Plus I'll be seeing Brand New, The Hotelier, and Modest Mouse for the first time, and I get to see blink-182 for the third time (plus AAR and ADTR, who I've seen before). I don't think I've ever been more happy to be a music fan. And Goodness is definitely at the top of my list.

 

The "choose your own adventure" type of stream.

 

Those go up early on Thursday usually though.

it will be a stream and we will all enjoy it together and sing and dance on opposite sides of the world.

 

I fly to Arizona Friday morning. Would be oh so great to have this for the flight.

 

I just sent Tiny Engines and The Hotelier a video of Olivia Newton Johns "Please Dont Keep Me Waiting" on twitter so we're bound to get a stream soon they cant resist that

 

The first time I saw Brand New they walked out to that song. They played all 5 minutes of it before they came out. It was amazing.

they played it when I saw it too! Jesse commented on it which was really funny. "I know its a bit dickish to play that song over the speakers but......its really catchy"

That's awesome, haha. I'll always remember the feeling of standing in the crowd and looking at the band standing off to the side of the stage for 5 minutes while a song about waiting blasted over the speakers. Priceless.

 

yeah same, it was so great watching this band that we all mythologize and hold in such high regard be goofy and dance to it haha. Jesse also started playing a cover of "Dont Worry, Be Happy" and then Vin stopped him. Jesse was like "bro, i can do whatever the fuck i want!" and they all started laughing. It was just so cool.

 

There was definitely an element of humanization, seeing them live. At one point during my show, Jesse started talking about how he didn't sleep very well, the rain all day had been bumming him out, and the coffee wasn't very good, but he found some better coffee and started to feel okay. This was about two years ago, at the pinnacle of my BN fandom, so listening to one of my musical idols complain about mediocre coffee and rain onstage was a strange mixture of hilarious and endearing. I always love seeing the natural, human side of band members.

 

i do too, especially a band so "shrouded in mystery" like Brand New is. They're just guys and thats really cool. Same thing when I saw Motion City Soundtrack live. Justin kept complaining about his glasses fogging up and he went on to explain about how difficult it is to keep his hair the way it is while sweating so much. Its just funny watching your heroes be goofy.

 

Absolutely. It's easy, for me at least, to become so enthralled by the music and my emotional connection to it that I can almost forget that these are real people who make the same lame jokes I do. And, to bring it full circle, a perfect example of that is The Hotelier piggybacking off of what Pup tweeted earlier today. It's always great to see that artists are having fun with their art.

 

exactly! or even during that live stream they did a while ago where they played through the album, in between songs they were cracking jokes and making fun of each other and just being silly. As talented as every member of The Hotelier is, theyre still twenty somethings like most of us.

 

how's tiny engines with sending out pre-orders? like will this be sent out soon to get it on release day or nah?

 

Pretty excited to hear this one alongside everyone else.
