Show was awesome. I wasn’t sure what the reception would be to Have Mercy and Reggie, but the crowd was definitely into it. I especially liked Reggie and will need go through their discography.

SF’s set was a real pleaser. Some curveballs I wasn’t expecting and the new songs landed well. You could tell Buddy has not screamed in a long while because he refrained or limited his usual bark in the heavier songs. Hopefully he gets warmed up as the tour progresses. Steve Carey is a nice addition as the new drummer and the only change in the lineup from the Quince Años Tour.

    Setlist

    NJ Makes, The World Takes

    Calling All Cars
    New Year’s Eve
First Breath, Last Breath - had to start over because Buddy’s emotions overwhelmed him. So sad :(

As someone who's seen them almost 20 times over the years, this setlist kind of blows besides the new songs. The philly show is sold out and tickets are almost $60 a pop. I was thinking about biting the bullet or heading out to Jersey to see the show at Starland but it doesn't seem worth it to me. We'll see

Too many old songs on that setlist. Seriously need to get rid of most of the pre still searching tracks.

Philly isn't even close to sold out??? It was on th ticket deals 2 for 1 last week so it couldn't have been selling that well.

As someone who hasn’t seen em in a long time, there are some nice surprises on it, but needs more Fire and a better Still Searching selection. Bummed I won’t be making this tour.

I like the set. I'm stoked about New Year's Eve but I sure would like to see Calling All Cars and Can't Be Saved out of the set.

I'm pretty excited about this set! For some reason I thought there would be at least a couple of more songs on there but I'm happy with its length

It’s appears that you are correct. There’s a Facebook event and someone was looking for tickets. I then tried to buy two and it said no tickets were available. So weird

I honestly wish they were playing the entire record on this tour. I love it so much.

More bands should play new records in full. It was always really weird to me to think how many songs a band writes that never get played.

Yeah, but I don’t know how well tours like that would sell to the “average fan”

I know TBS played their entire new album on their tour right after it was released and by all accounts the tour didn’t sell too well compared to their other tours

Oh yea, I agree it’s probably not good business. But if they catered to me more I’d buy more merch and that’s good for them, ya??

I’m with you on this one! I’d like to see bands I like play more new stuff rather than stuff I’ve seen several times already

I see your point but using that TBS Tour as an example isn’t really fair. They never officially announced prior to the shows that they’d be playing TW from front to back. I remember the tour not selling well but my assumption was that people were just burnt out from seeing them. Even now, they tour nonstop. Being from and still living in Baltimore, it’s not a huge market because we’re only 30 miles away from DC. Taking Back Sunday has played here twice in less than a year.

You’re right - maybe not the best example. That’s all I could really think of off the top of my head

The Maine's last tour was their last two albums they released, one of them being released earlier last year. I always wished more bands would tour playing their entire new album.

new Senses Fail album is their best chart debut in the US since The Fire. I'm happy they seem to be regaining steam, if only slightly.

Nah, for where the band at this point in time this set makes a lot of sense.

This album is probably do or die for Buddy I would imagine, and I think he's counting a lot on older fans to rediscover Senses Fail as a new, more mature entity for a different period in their lives (positive lyrics, early SF musically, no more asshole Buddy, etc). Buddy has made it a point to note the sound shifting back to the LIEY/Still Searching era now that he is writing the music himself, doesn't make a lot of sense for him to highlight songs from the heavier era on this tour. Next tour, sure, toss a couple in.

So what do you do for this first tour? You give your fans nearly half of the new album, including all of the singles that have gotten pretty solid praise, you play your greatest hits, a couple from the EP to show you didn't forget ur rootz, and some "deep" cuts (songs from The Fire that havent been played live in years, etc). Encore is dope.

    See y'all in Austin.

I’m not going to reread the thread but I don’t think anyone said the set list didn’t make sense. It just isn’t a set that anyone who’s kept up with them would really want to see

I think this set is fantastic. The only people that would really be upset here are the ones who got into the band with the hardcore sound.
