They've had a handful of songs I really like but never a full release i'm wowed by. Then they had a bunch of member changes and I stopped paying attention.

 

i mean, this is the first time i've really considered them a band, they were more of a musical collective from like 2008 to the release of harmlessness

 

The point on Forevor Sound where Kyle says “...body’s for the taking.” is amazing.

 

the whole part on the album is amazing.

thats my favorite part of that song, the high hat smacking hard there is cool

 

In another life they repeat this verse at the end of the song in a huge instrumental cacophony and I melt

 

damn I went back to Keep You for the first time since listening to this one. It's actually incredible how much better Kyle is at singing. I like his natural quiver and you could definitely still hear traces of his screaming in Keep You, but he's so much more refined on this one. With those first falsetto notes in "Fake Lighting" you can tell he's come a long way since then.

 

Those of you who aren’t into TWIABP might be disappointed with the support for the next Pianos tour.

 

I could care less about the support, new US tour?

haha on dry spells i always think hes saying blah blah blah

 

that part was so annoying the first time I heard it but I like it a little more now. that's one time where I miss the less confident delivery of Keep you.

 

I guess that was technically a co-headliner anyways? The few details I have suggest that it could be another co-headliner.

Been listening to this a bunch over the past week. So damn good. Even though their sound has evolved so much it's really incredible that the parity of every album since TLLA has been so close. Also just watched all 3 music videos back to back: so well done.

That's an interesting point of view. I'm the opposite; I'm so very used to the shaky delivery of Kyle's vocals, so when he sings that line so clearly and confidently, it grabs my attention and I love it. Kind of like how I prefer post-hardcore bands that have 90% clean vocals, but occasionally scream for emphasis. It just has more of an emotional impact on me than a band that only screams (though I like those too!)

 

i like how reading yr preferred post hardcore band made me immediately think "i've seen them in the Thursday thread. they're gonna describe Thursday." and you p much did hahaha

 

Apparently the clear w/ black and gold splatter will actually be delivered by March 2.


Unfortunate thing is there's a blizzard in Ireland and everything is completely shut down.
