@Garrett L. as a child of divorce, what was your experience like? Did you know many people that also were growing up? Were you ever made fun of for it? Did you get equal custody between both parents? How old were you when your parents divorced? Are you upset about it?


You don't have to answer any of these if you aren't comfortable. I'm just interested to know from somebody else because my parents are also divorced.

My parents were a unified front even despite the separation, oddly enough. I couldn’t ever play them against each other (dad would just defer to Mom). I spent every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday with dad unless he was traveling for work, so I slept in a different bed almost every night from 6 to 17. Which isn’t a common experience but really shaped who I am, i think. I had one set of friends whose parents also divorced, but I was definitely the odd one out overall. Even was that way carrying into college.

Never was made fun of for it. My parents separated my last day of kindergarten, tried to reconcile for three months in second grade, and finally divorced when I was 12. It was a long time coming and my mom deserved to be free from an adulterer faster. But it ruined me for sure.

In a lot of ways, it’s the exact reason I’ve only ever had one girlfriend and relationships are a monolith in my life. I don’t ever want to have to put my children through a parental divorce.

My worst fear is being cheated on.

 

I do. I often consider getting a Groot funko or t-shirt.

That don’t mix cheese and meat nonsense isn’t Biblical so I won’t abide by it

Yeah. It’s a very specific verse that gets taken out of context. Unless you’re living on a farm you’re never gonna have a baby goat to cook in its mother’s milk

oh god tomorrow is @Try Hard Champion Dank Dan Meltzer Jr.'s day, i may as well call out of work!

 

She’s great. Finally got a new job and they’re super supportive of her having to take care of her mother with cancer and Alzheimer’s.

I do what I can for her. But yeah. She injured her shoulder awhile back so I got to do a lot around the house. I don’t mind, though. Living at home has different costs than money.
