the acoustic "hold me tight" they did for the spotify session is badass as well

 

Wow Footprints in the Snow starts out like the Blade Runner soundtrack haha. Also Patrick's voice on that thing holy hell why didn't they finish ittttttttttttt. Would've loved to hear a finished version of Wrong Side of Paradise as well. Was a little lukewarm on Past Life, personally.

 

Chord progression is nearly identical. Wish that one was longer. Could have been a really interesting song lyrically.

 

These demos are honestly better than the entirety of MANIA imo

Maybe they thought it sounded too similar to what labelmates Paramore were going for? Or possibly a glimpse of what’s to come next. I love MANI A , but I would love an album full of songs similar to the sounds of these 3.

 

Wrong Side of Paradise is so fucking good

 

I'm really loving 'Heaven's Gate' right now.

 

Also, can I please get a finished version of 'Footprints in the Snow'

 

I wish I was a good enough songwriter to even contemplate cutting songs like these from an album

 

Been listening to those 3 demos a lot, really dig the vibe of them so much. Reminds me of Wang Chung’s To Live & Die in L.A. mixed with Stranger Things. would like to see them explore that kind of sound more, even on a just an EP

I've listened to Past Life the least of the three demos but l love the way Patrick sings that line.

I went through the albums I've heard so far this year last night and this is pretty easily my favorite and the one that hits me the hardest

 

Listening to my vinyl for the first time. Even Y&M sounds great. Haven’t listened to the album much lately but it’s still pretty solid.
