@ugman_2000 and I finally nailed in our choices (my fault).

I will be listening to The Replacements - Don't Tell A Soul

and he will be listening to Tall Ships - Impressions.

First up is Good Tigers - A Head Full of Moonlight. This band has been reviewed a couple times here in the last few weeks, so I don't think it needs any introduction at this point. I enjoyed some parts, especially the instrumentation that was pretty great. Something I enjoyed less was the vocals. While the singer is really good at what he does, there's something about that type of vocals that starts to annoy me after a while. Some standout tracks for me were Snake Oil and Aspirations. Prog Metal is not a genre I listen to that much, but overall the album was good, and I might come back to it later.

    7.5/10

Next up is Mimicking Birds - Layers of Us. This is the latest album (released 3 weeks ago) from this Indie Rock band from Portland, Oregon. This was really not the same style as the Good Tiger album, and that is one thing I love about this Club. One time you can get a Metal album and another time a really slow-paced album, or get both in the same week. This was a great album to add to a Relaxing/Background music playlist. The music was really interesting with different layers with keys, acoustic guitars, drums and some other interesting sounds. The vocals were beautiful and mesmerizing. My standouts were Another Time, Belongings, Lumens, One Eyed Jack.

    8.5/10

    Thank you for the recommendations!

That Brian Fallon album has really cool artwork. Didn’t click for me musically though :(

I haven't heard the new one, but I definitely agree with your review when you say the vocals sound like Anthony Green in Circa Survive. The vocals are pretty much the reason why I never really got into Circa. I saw them with Thrice in November and even though Anthony is really talented, it was starting to irritate me by the end of the set. I felt the same thing with the Good Tiger album. The whole band is very talented, but the constantly high pitched vocals start to annoy me after a while.

I love high, wailing vocals like good tiger and earlier circa. Gets me pumped.

Haha I am chilling on recommending it because there may be this "trend" going that when I rec a Spanish album people "drop out" or "fail to review it." It's all in my head they say, but I know the truth!!!

That's always my big thing with foreign language stuff. It has to bring me something I can't get in music where I understand the language. Modern Spanish pop is tough for me. But salsa or boogaloo from the 70s sounds like nothing else in the world, so Spanish lyrics or no, it's the only game in town. Same for, like, Tropicalia or Jacques Brel.

No clue if that makes any sense

It makes sense. Lyrics are always a big pull for me too but I guess just like English music it depends. If I just wanna dance or sing along in the car or whatever I don't necessarily mind what the lyrics are if the beat is fun. I haven't rly recommended any Spanish reggae or anything which is what I assume ur referring to with modern Spanish pop. Mostly indie pop or garage/experimental rock albums. In those cases I like piecing the lyrics together. It's like a puzzle since I'm not fluent but the more I listen the more I catch and understand. Especially if the lyrics are political it can be interesting

Alright, my buddy @Nate_Johnson gave me Senses Fail- If There Is Light, It Will Find You.

I've loved this band dating back to 7th grade, but with it's past few releases I've tailed off a bit. Thanks to Nate and Kevo I listened to it, and man I loved everything about this fucking album. It kicks off with " Double Cross " and it instantly brings me back to my teen years, it's got that awesome raw Senses Fail sound we all know and love to it ! it's such a fantastic opener and I caught myself singing along to it right off the bat ! Now, it goes right into Elevator To The Gallows and man I honestly thought I was listening to Let In Enfold you ! What a solid, solid start to the album. Now, I really wanna get to my favorite songs on the album and the ones that really stick out and speak to me. Gold Jacket, Green Jacket is easily one of my favorite songs on this album, the song is super cheesy but Buddy really sends a message in the song that holds true and really does hit home ! It really does nail some of the problems we have in modern day America. Now it's time for some water works because First Breath, Last Breath really put the tears in my eyes. Now, I don't have kids of my own but I plan to at some point and when my baby boy or girl is born I know that's how I'll feel. Lyrics like " I used to wonder why people put bullets in their brains, Now it seems Like The Only Way To Stop The Pain " really just gives me goose bumps because I lost to one of my best friends to suicide. Another favorite of mine is " Is It Gonna Be The Year ? " It's another cheesy song but again it's a song that speaks and a song I think that a lot of people can relate to, oh and not to mention it has that awesome corny 80's hair metal solo in it ! Overall this album is a gem, it's classic Senses Fail. I hear old TBS on this record, I hear some Saves The Day on this record, even a name drop ! Buddy's vocals are out standing ! This album took me on a journey, I connected with it so much I felt like he was talking to me. Now I remember why I loved Buddy so much back in the day.

That's always the mind blowing thing to realize. Like listening to Tropicalia being like "wow this makes me so happy to listen to"
And then finding out the lyrics are so political that the artist got arrested or something. Haha
