They have shitty easy listening pop punk songs. They're fun enough. Kinda like Mest.

MCR just has no appeal to me whatsoever, other than their very first album. That had some cool songs on it.

 

Have you seen the Twitter page that is if Seinfeld was on today? It's fantastic?

When I get back from lunch, I'll listen to the Black Parade. It's just so Hot Topic 2006 ish, and I hated that era of "emo." I'm already cringing thinking about it.

 

I could see an episode where George swipes the wrong way on Tinder, and does everything to try to get back to the girl. Then, he ends up seeing her in public

George: "Hey. I know this is going to sound crazy, please don't walk away. I meant to swipe right on you but I swiped left, and I've been trying to find you ever since."

Jerry: "George, you realize it sounds like you've been stalking this girl, and finally found her"

Kramer: "Oh George, you know you've gotta swipe right if you want to match up with them!"

(The Kramer joke being that Kramer doesn't even have a smartphone)

I can see why MCR gradually lost their appeal for some but some of their earlier tracks were just great songwriting for that genre - Drowning Lessons, Helena, You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison, a large chunk of The Black Parade... well written rock songs.

Their last album was an odd reach though. If I never hear "Sing" again I'd be just fine, and its probably their biggest radio hit.

Easily overrated. People act as if it's the greatest rock album of the 21st century, but it's not even the best Japandroids album.

 

Im not a huge Japandroids fan tbh I prefer DFA personally.
