man the brian interview was so good. would have loved to hear him a little clearer in some spots but, great insight. cant wait to get into the BTR episode.

All the Celebration Rock interviews are over the phone (I can't even think of an exception) and I can't figure out why Hyden and the radio station he does the podcast with haven't figured out a better strategy for audio. Theoretically, most of his guests should have the capability to record their own audio tracks.

Brian had significantly more insight than Jeff...Steve really carries the born to run ep.

I haven't heard the Jeff/BTR episode yet. I loved Brian's interview though. I think I'm gonna spend my morning listening to those 3 three records. I never paid much attention to the first 2 records, honestly. But the way Steven talks about how you can hear on side B of The Wild , The Innocent... what Bruce was about to become and how it was a transition into Born to Run. I'm interested in hearing that progression.

Jeff struck me as an odd choice for Born to Run. Feel like Hyden could have picked someone who was a better fit for that one.

I kind of see how it fits given Jeff's use of horns, energetic ambition and frenetic live show. But yeah, Steve carried that interview for sure.

NYC Serenade is essential to maximizing your appreciating of Jungleland.

Haven't listened yet, but I thought when the lineup was released that Craig Finn would've been a way better choice. Maybe nobody wants to talk about Bruce's best album.

After listening to half of that episode (so far), I don't think Jeff was a bad choice, but he seems like...not quite a casual Springsteen fan, but not a die hard either. I feel like, for that record, you need someone who considers it THE quintessential rock 'n' roll album. It's just an album of such extreme ambition, scope, and emotion, so it's weird to have a guest who doesn't really have that extreme viewpoint of it. Then again, maybe that's my own extreme fandom talking.

Yeah, I feel like it either should have been Finn or it should have been Brandon Flowers. The latter, because who else tried as hard to recreate the maximalist, earnest scope of that record? Flowers on Born to Run would have been a fucking fascinating listen.

Love seeing love for Bruce's (tied for) best album: The Wild, The Innocent and the E Street Shuffle

Would have been awesome, but Hyden’s Killers takes are abysmal so that could never happen, haha.

I think the Wilco interview was backstage at a show, maybe? Same with Craig Finn.

Yeah, I don't think Brandon's getting on the phone with someone who spent 40 minutes calling his band overrated right after their last album dropped.

About that time I do another run through his discography.

I really need him to tour soon, having not seen him yet is one of my biggest regrets

Bruce Begins episode was great. Going to dive into the BTR episode when I get a sec but i really do not care for Jeff Rosenstock

The Jeff episode was maybe the one I was most excited for haha. Bummer that it seems like it wasn't a good fit but I'll have to listen and see

I feel like Jeff does make a good point about how born to run drew him in as a punk fan in a way that other “classic rock” records don’t

It's funny how after 1000 listens, hearing the beginning of "Born to Run" on the radio still gives that endorphin rush buzz.

I'm halfway through listening to Human Touch for the first time for MWE and how can anyone possibly call this a lower-tier album? He is ROARING on "Roll of the Dice", "57 Channels" has a groove that I'd never expect, "Cross My Heart" is this straight-ahead rocker that I'm loving. Woo.

Keeping up with 20th Century Boss. Both episodes were pretty great this week, other than a few remarkably bad opinions about The River.

I never really realized the river wasn’t as loved as btr and darkness. Those three are all pretty much neck and neck for me and tbh I think the river almost completely justifies its length
