Things have been weird lately, but Liberation was so good. Anytime Madlib is involved, I'm excited.

he rebranded as Rockets are Red, still very active but Gaslight has been using Hellgate Industries since Get Hurt. Hellgate is fine but they are blatantly stealing Jefe’s aesthetic and just making lower color count designs on cheaper stock (Jefe’s is beautiful, thick French stock. feels like art, not a poster). I imagine that’s why they made the change, lower commissioning cost.

He still does Frank, Souls, and a lot of others. It kills me that Gaslight/Brian left him, especially since Hellgate reduced the size and now it’s impossible to make a nice arrangement, though I do love the two of theirs I have.

His old designs are plagiarized as all get out, I have reported at least 50 stores and Facebook pages for selling scans of his stuff. If you ever get the chance to pick something up, do it. One time I ordered two prints and he sent me the whole set of 6, a wrestling poster, and a note thanking me for supporting him

Ugh, that's seriously such a bummer. I just looked at the RAR store, and of course the Gaslight ones are long sold out. If he ever does another for them or puts up an older design, I'm buying it no questions asked. Especially if the Ferris Wheel one ever comes back.

 

i believe he has rereleased the ferris wheel print a couple of times in other colorways for other purposes/without the lyric since there's no actually mention of Gaslight in the art, you may get your wish

god you weren't kidding about these Hellgate ones being blatant ripoffs, just nowhere near as good. This is really bumming me out

 

I can't see the images but that's what I think I'd like but it's like #5 on my list of tattoos to get haha

 

yeah, i can take a new company, but i hate feeling like i'm supporting something on the outskirts of plagiarism. i do though because i look forward to getting a new print almost as much as the show, i'm not a very sentimental person when it comes to possessions but i really treasure that i have them to document it all as sappy as it is

Yeah, I already know that no matter what it even looks like I'm going to buy a print for the Chicago show provided there is one. Not only is it seeing one of my favorite bands play my one of my favorite albums, but it'll be the first time I travel solo to another state to see a show.

hell yeah. also, bet the house on it. the only two times i've seen them not have prints for sale were when they opened for MCR at a radio show and a one off they did one summer in Clifton Park for no reason. same goes for Brian solo. they did special prints for Bamboozle and Skate and Surf even

 

Looks like I'll be buying a print when I see Brian in a few months too haha
