MK on Switch is amazing, gonna need to invest some money for a pro controller at some point though, playing games like doom using the tiny controllers makes your hands achey real fast

I feel like in this forum I've noticed that instead of dropping topics, educating people has been the way to go. Everyone is keen and willing to listen and learn!

 

If that's the case, it can be done through private message. This is a topic that people seem to get pretty inflammatory about, for whatever reason. Based on the post I quoted, its likely that we aren't changing anyone's mind without making a handful of people uncomfortable in the process. I'd rather stop the conversation there and move on.

I'm going to address your comments toward me rather than directly address the Twitch topic specifically as I assume that is seperate from what Henry wanted dropped.

The point of the analogy clearly flew over your head. Whatever, that topic's done. You seem to believe wasting your time means not getting someone else to agree to your point of view. You consistently come across as pompous and with this post quite the sycophant. Your opinions are often seem ill-informed or just cringeworthy at best. But that is only the tip of the iceberg as to why you are insufferable. You embody pretentiousness and are so ironically patronizing.

Which brings me to the fact I didn't tell Hayley how to feel. I was pointing out the dissonance in the issue and applying it to ALL who feel that way. Including other male posters. Disagreeing with a position is not equitable to telling a person how to feel. I can't make anyone feel one way or another though it seems to drive you insane you don't have that power.

Further, I'm not interested in being converted. So called attempts at educating me are fairly pointless as I have firm positions after spending years educating myself at the university level. So talking to me like a teenager who just got their first tumblr account won't fly.

Soooooooooooooooooooo I FINALLY beat Bloodborne last night after a handful of years of trying, quitting, coming back to it, and quitting agin. Also wrapped up Zelda this morning, which I put on hold right before the final boss fight. Very excited for Bayonetta 1 and 2 on Friday, and now I'm certainly going to pick up Dark Souls remastered in May, because I still haven't beaten that one.

All of the things you are saying here just make you sound like an asshole. You did exactly what I asked you not to do. I politely asked you to drop it and then you threw this out there.

I'm not trying to ban anyone for having differing opinions. When you say shit like this, it doesn't leave me with a lot of options. Have civil discussions without name calling or dickery. It's really not that hard. If you feel like you are on the receiving end of people being dicks, report them and I'll address it.

I hear nothing but great things about Dark Souls/Bloodborne. I need to give in and pick em up.

 

My advice to you is not to start with Dark Souls II, lol. I did that when I was looking for stuff to play on PS4 after I got it in 2015 and it was a huge mistake. The opening hours of that game soured me on what ended up being one of my all-time favorite series.

 

Prepare to die a lot

 

That's interesting, I found it to be the most accessible. I played 1 before that though so that probably makes my feelings on the accessibility of 2 tainted.

 

I think the biggest mindset change I had to make to enjoy the Dark Souls series was realizing that dying in that game is not necessarily game over, but part of the gameplay loop. Learning that death is probably going to happen a good amount of times every time you play, and seeing how that actually makes you better at it / smarter to the enemy types / opens the map up really made it click for me.

 

Maybe it's just how I play these games, but it's still the one I can't crack. Beat DS3 and Bloodborne, made it to O+S in Dark Souls 1, can't beat the Pursuer in DS2.

 

I wonder what the curriculum for Female Twitch Streamer Studies is like.

 

Brah Dark Souls is weird that way, I abandoned 3 because I found it too hard in places. I think it's a right place/right time thing for me with that series.
