i just wanna say im so happy to be back in a TWY album cycle especially after being such a negative nancy during the NCTH rollout and i love you all

 

I was all in on NCTH and it was a battlefield thread.

 

This is a hot take I can get behind

 

sorry!!! they have a sound and they ride that sound hard and it's solid but some songs are better than others and i can just discard the ones that aren't as good!!

 

guardian and june are so good but almost every other song on the record is a lesser version of those two

I'm going to stay strong on this one, not listening to anything beyond Sister Cities and We Look Like Lightning until they release the album. I mean, I'd be surprised if they put out more than one more single before it comes out, but still.

Spin is definitely my least favorite TJ record but it's still good

Also where should I start if I haven't listened to much TJ before?

 

The Sun is my go to song to show people. Or Distress Signal

I would start with Charmer and the S/T record

charmer is more diverse but the highs aren't as high

 

Got a response from MerchNow about whether Sister Cities apparel will be put up for purchase outside of bundles. It will be after pre-orders are over, if they have them in stock. :(

 

Song is just alright but I dig the change in style, it was much needed after NCTH clearly showed stagnation
