Haha i dunno if my 12 year old self would appreciate their weirdness. Like they do crazy stuff with time signatures, and will sometimes suddenly throw in some polka and circus sounding music into it. BTBAM gets weird haha

oh yeah no i was totally screwing with you, this would not have jived with me when i was 12 haha. The screaming may take some getting used to. i have found Sunbather to be the perfect gateway album to this kind of music because 1 its incredible and 2 the vocals are pretty low in the mix. so you kinda get used to the vocal style without it being right in your face at first

i also love this. i actually do this a lot.

Also, the vocals on Sunbather are by far the worst part; the only adjective I’ve been able to find to express what I think of them is juvenile. They improved so much in that department on NB, which is a large part of why I like that album more.

 

Nice post man, happy to know what the dream was finally. As for your proposed questions it is possible. If people get to know one another, of course. Look at me and @ComedownMachine . Our music tastes hardly overlap except in a couple spots, but we are friends because we got to know each other before the music.

 

right, and i know you would never judge anyone on here because of what they like and dont like, and nobody is judging you for what you like and dont like. i just needed to use you and adam and me as an example so i could explain my thought process haha

Oh yeah I got that. But you are right. I listen to all sorts of things like Blink-182, Breaking Benjamin, Hawthorne Heights that people could easily poke at me for. So I don’t poke or judge someone for their likes.


I’ve always been a firm believer in music is personal. Everyone relates to their genres or their bands or Artists for their own reasons. It’s personal to them, it means something. That’s why I think judging someone for their music tastes is terrible, because one man’s trash music is another man’s ‘I’m in a bad place and this music is speaking to me and helping me’ and so on. Music has power, it can mean so much and carry so many memories. It’s best not to judge, you don’t know what that music you don’t like means to someone else

when i buy a new audio interface... i went to start recording stuff the other day and realized i need a new one

 

I’m not generally a big fan of the black metal-style shrieking vocals and, to me, Sunbather is a prime example of what I don’t like.

Instrumentally it’s fantastic and the vocals are low enough that I can still listen to and enjoy it.

 

I'm gonna start sending you bad poetry every day until there's enough decent stuff to piece together for good lyrics.
