Someone on Reddit (ugh) emailed Bill Stevenson about producing the next blink album, and he responded.

Travis's drumming is a highlight for me and i really don't like Will Yip's drumsound/production, so i also wouldn't be too happy with him producing. I don't see it ever happening, but still.

I am 95% sure we are getting Feldmann again

  6. Feldmann with some guest producers/co-writes is the safe bet.

I’ve been saying this for a while. Especially after how well California sold and how close he seems to be with the band members now, you think they’d go elsewhere?

I know this isn't a popular opinion, but i'd be totally okay with that, excited even. I really like California and he didn't ruin blink for me. He made the band relevant again, which hopefully means they'll be around longer.

I am fine with it and excited if that happens too. So is my friend Erwin wherever he is

Cool. Hopefully he spoke to them about how deplorable it is to make music about and with people that perpetuates violence against women.

That sucks about the producer. I can't listen to another Feldmann album.

Yeah just atrocious looks from all three members of blink-182 the last couple days. I still haven’t forgotten that Travis laughed off an assault of a stripper in his book.

Super glad that some people on this forum have not made social/racial mistakes in their life. I feel totally at peace with those people screaming hypocrite.

How about we all have a little vulnerablity. I’ll start off. I chose to ignore a stupid shirt in college that one of my friends was wearing back in the day (it was really inappropriate). I even laughed at it and bought one. Wasn’t until I spoke to my aunt who was pretty upset over the stupid shirt that I understood where she and others were coming from.

Total honesty. This was not my first or last mistake. Recognizing these thoughts and how they impact MY behavior will be something that I always have be aware of.

The more you know, and knowing is half the battle... Yo Joe.

Being a grown ass man and taking part in writing and promoting music like this:
and working with a man that held a woman captive, beat and tortured her while pregnant is not a "social mistake." They are not in their early to mid 20's living in the 90's anymore. There are social growing pains and then there is blatant disregard.

We have all given them a pass regarding their past lyrics and jokes because we understand that the times were different, they were young and it was over a decade ago. No one needs a lecture about moving on from "social mistakes."

Hey - My response had nothing to do with artist, but with our group in general. The artist have their own agenda, message, etc. It is screwed up and terrible.

My point is how we address each other can change a lot. By being vulnerable first, we can help people understand where their knowledge gap might be.

I am just sick of people lashing out in anger.

No one is here claiming to be perfect. I don’t think Travis and Matt and Mark and Feldmann are irredeemable monsters. Or that they’re completely horrible people and nothing else. But they’re enabling and supporting monsters. So yeah. I’m angry at them.

This is a very rationale, understandable, and valid post. Kudos to you @Nathan

That is totally fine and you have every right to do so. My ask is that you and all of us look internally and understand when we have also made these mistakes. This is how we learn. Granted some of us may have not done it to the scale as the artist, but I think we all have had moments. Understanding we are vulnerable to those situations/episodes and how we can better react and understand those we are addressing in similar situations will make us all better in the end.

I may or may not have worked for a D&I firm in the past. Good conversation. Keep it up.

We’ve all made mistakes but I’m not working with an artist convicted for domestic and sexual assault. I’m not producing and advocating for a misogynist and abhorrent band. I’m not loudly and explicitly supporting a racist and murderous institution. I’m not doing all that while saying I’m trying to make the world safer for people. I’m not saying all that with millions of fans listening to my words, impressionable kids a large portion of them.

They deserve to get called out. If they don’t they won’t learn. Whatever my previous mistakes or attitudes are don’t mean I can’t say the shit they’re doing is wrong. Because it’s still wrong. I hope they hear people when they express that and listen and learn.

Not that I’m holding out hope for four rich straight white guys in their forties to listen in the first place. Skiba’s response to people in his Instagram comments was real shitty.

Again... I am not asking you not to “call out” people, band members, producers, whoever. What I am saying is that we as members of this group learn from these moments and understand where we have screwed up in the past. Think about how we can bring a positive message of equality/vulnerability/leadership so that this doesn’t get repeated.

Your first post was a sarcastic dismissal of people being upset with this band and their producer. I am honestly not sure what your anecdote about the shirt that your aunt didn’t like was supposed to illustrate or what your overarching point is.

"Hey guys, I know I started out sly digging you for being angry about things like domestic violence and racism and those things are real bad and super awful to see your favorite band supporting, but lets talk about it with kid gloves because your anger about these awful issues is just too much." Tone policing is weird.
