    I feel like a lot of interviewers wouldn't have asked the sand question, his answer was fantastic as well. I am extremely excited for "Bay of Dreams" now.

    i fucking love how organic their music is and i love that kyle refuses to force anything. it really does make a difference and allow for a greater impact. i still wanna know so badly what hes referring to in april and old jaw

    What lines are you wondering about specifically?

    april - the mug with the date and the picture by the sink (now i think its fairly safe to assume both instances are tied to his father, i get that, but like the specifics) and i know those surrounding details are not meant for me and thats why i love it i guess

    old jaw - old ed size and robert's prison guard skin (again i know that those references might not be intended to be understood) its just a love/hate curiosity

    i just really really like pianos is the bottom line

    I presumed Ed was a really big family member, Robert being a prison guard and family member lol

    And the verse itself being held doesn't stand out among them

    i guess im just pointing out the natural quality of his writing and how any ambiguity does not get in the way of the final product

    @meaninglessritual

    100% agreed about how his lyrics feel natural. I'm not so sure those lines you pointed out are ambiguous though. I think they're specific details from his life and they're some of those things you just notice in highly emotional moments. Kind of like the verses on "After the Party" by the Menzingers. Clips of highly specific imagery to try to capture a moment.

    But. Who knows. I'm not Kyle.

    Kyle has such a way with words. I am pretty sure this record will define year 27 for me.

    This part killed me:

    “It’s an ectopic pregnancy. It’s allowing time for more tries. It’s life that hasn’t, nor will ever begin, but somehow the story is older than the trees. It’s a grace in the green leaves on Silvers Lane. It’s a weekend getaway to Berkeley Springs on Valentine’s weekend. It’s dead moths in a mailbox. It’s trying to forget. It’s a jigsaw put together to collect dust under the bed just to be taken apart.”

    Pretty cool that each paragraph represents each song. Helps shed a light on the context of what was going through their minds.

    “It’s missing your father while becoming one yourself. It’s fighting to not become him and all of his flaws. It’s trying to be like him. It’s him never meeting your son. It’s him asking, “those your fish belly white legs? Or are you just riding a chicken?” It’s knowing you’ll say the same things to your son. It’s wishing you could tell him, “we thought it cliche to have your first be his middle name.” It’s forgiveness.”

    Holy shit

    It's been talked about the last couple pages, but Kyle does such a good job of dropping little personal nuggets in songs that have no meaning to anyone else but him, but the listener feels affected by them anyway. That was chock full of it.

    I think the same way about Justin Vernon from Bon Iver. Such vivid personal details that you start to reflect onto yourself
