Fringe is great, but The Leftovers fills the LOST void the best, no question

I don't know why this movie is getting so much hate, I thought it was really weird so I liked it. You guys can't take your cloverfield movies too seriously.

If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend everyone watch Coherence. An amazing scifi movie that does the whole multiple universe thing so so so much better than this movie did.

For a second I thought little girl was gonna be the missing girl from 10CL. That bunker maybe was connected underground to John Goodman’s bunker or something. That was giving far too much credit to this film.

I actually have seen the first two seasons, and you’re right, it’s definitely the closest I’ve gotten to feeling the way I did when I watched LOST. Gotta finish season 3 soon.

Yeah, this movie was not good and I think the discussions about how it fits within the larger CL universe are pretty pointless because they're obviously making it all up as they go along. At this point I'm good with just the first two movies existing, thank you very much.

the ships have all sailed to the sea

Yeah I rewatched the first two last night and I still love them both. The new one was a swing and a miss. I would rather them stick with the anthology angle rather than try to force them all together.

speaking of LOST and Fringe, Slusho makes an appearance in both of those shows as does a certain logo. Slusho is a product made by the Tegruato company in the Cloververse. cute little easter eggs and a really odd way of giving a backstory to some offhand product.

i kinda want to rewatch this again to see if it gets better on another viewing but idk

I believe there’s a Tagruato building in Star Trek Into Darkness as well. Also, I think the Kelvin gas station makes an appearance in Super 8, 10CL, and Paradox.

yep Kelvin is a easter egg a lot of the Bad Robot crew use in various films. pretty neat little shoutout

It has a good movie in it somewhere, but in my opinion, the Cloverfield connections felt forced and overall it felt like two different movies just got slapped together.

I think trying to connect it to the greater lore or whatever makes you hate it, its a fun silly sci fi movie, take it as its own

So they reused an explosion sound? This seems like nothing, why are people even trying to connect everything so much

Don't really understand why people are so mad about how this movie connects/doesn't connect, to the others. There's some cool Easter eggs tying them together, and a very loose multiverse which lets them play with any setting/characters/directors/actors they want to instead of being stuck with one rigid plan or vision. I love sci fi/thriller movies and I love monsters so having the potential for a lot of these movies to come out while not having to repeat plot lines or characters sounds like a good deal to me. And looking for Easter eggs is fun too

Sure this one wasn't that great, but I think people are overreacting about the whole connectivity issue

Honestly I couldn't care about how these movies connect, I always assumed the only thing 10CL had in common with the original (besides the title) was that they were both movies about aliens/monsters, but they were set in completely different timelines/universes. I sort of wish that's all it was and that none of the movies actually corresponded with one another.

I don't want all of the movies to correspond together, I just want a sequel/prequel in the same universe and timeline as the 2008 movie. It just seems like a major waste of their viral marketing back then, they had a lot of really cool stuff to build upon.

the movies biggest problem is duct-taping the Cloverfield corpse to its body and trying to pretend it all means something. this would probably be a fine enough b-movie i guess but it has to carry around this baggage of being connected to the other films.

that said, on a second viewing i liked it more. still dont quite understand why we had to take a 2008 monster movie and turn it into this convoluted, multi dimension anthology series but whatever.
