I was just getting ready to say that I think Lost and JJ are bad but I see he didnt direct or write Cloverfield Paradox

 

pretty sure he mostly just throws money at any and everything at this point

Like general fields I like to discuss but not specific works of art (in terms of what is or isn't liked about it), idk

 

im struggling to think of any redeeming qualities. even though the ending of 10 didn't work for me i thought everything up to that was excellent

Yep, like I'm interested in knowing similar things sure but I really don't wanna know more than that.

 

Once it comes down to having things you love that have a profound effect on you trashed (or feeling obligated to trash things other people love that have a profound effect on them) it becomes too much for me

And yet I'm so guilty of it just because I feel like I have to do it? I don't know why

 

I'm not trying to hate on anybody or anything just the concept of hate watching is just something that makes no sense to me, I feel like I like watch most things really.

I don't really know how to explain what I'm trying to see just criticism is such a weird and foreign thing to me.

 

I just tried watching that new bill nye show and had to turn it off it was so bad.

 

I don't get it either , I usually find something I like in every movie

And if it's not my thing why waste my time on it

 

I don't really hate watch anything. don't know if I ever really have tbh. I don't get why someone would want to, really. just not me, I guess. I like to watch bad movies sometimes but I never watch them under a lens of hatred or anything. even a bad movie can still be enjoyable

 

hate watching for me is usually watching something so bad that i can't look away so it kind of still has some entertainment value. if something is just bad or boring I'll usually turn it off.

it is kind of a ridic concept tho

I think it has to do with how we make criticism come across. Like, a lot of times when someone's said something's just flat out bad or they don't like it, it comes from a place of wishing they could like it and a desire to understand what makes it enjoyable for others because they feel like they're missing out on something cool by not liking it. But instead it comes across as "this sucks and you should feel bad for liking it" or something. I think we as a society just communicate badly when it comes to criticizing things. Or maybe my interpretation is off, I don't know.

100%. I'm guilty of this as I know we all are. I think it just comes down to communicating how you feel in a better way than simply saying something "sucks"

 

No I feel you, I also have a lot of anxiety about people disagreeing with me though

 

we should all be better about it tbh

even if it's just the A1 community

 

I've been trying to but I've also been failing a lot. It's a tough habit to break haha
