I've been in a not great place the last two days and this album is really hitting the spot and helping.

    Slow down, Quentin Supporter

I'm on my third listen through. Not quite sure if I'm sold on Proof of Life yet, and See You on the Other Side hasn't hit me yet (think I might need to catch it on a warm evening). Regardless, this might be my favorite thing He's done. I can't imagine not blasting this constantly over the next couple months!

The "At last....at last..." whispers at the end of Etta James. Man.

Etta James may end up being my favorite Brian Fallon song. It’s incredible.

This album is seriously special. It really feels like a follow up to Elsie more than Painkillers IMO.

The horns on the title track are next level. I’ll be gushing about this album for a long time.

Gonna give it another listen all the way through and then post some more extended thoughts on this. But for now I'll say it's for sure in his top 4 for me, and is my favorite thing he's done since Elsie.

If Your Prayers Don't Get To Heaven got playlisted by BBC Radio 2 over here in the uk, I keep hearing while I'm at work which is pretty cool.

Brian is a stupidly good lyricist and vocalist.

Neptune is probably my favorite at the moment.

I still can’t believe this has leaked and has been on my computer & iPod ready to be listened to for nearly 24 hours and I still haven’t listened. Most self control I’ve ever had over anything Brian Fallon related.

I want my first listen to be a good one and not rushing around doing shit. Probably tomorrow will be my time!

I've done three full listens through the album now. I have to agree that this is seriously special. For me, every song is fantastic, all the songs work together and it flows perfectly as an album, and there are songs on here that strike me already as contenders for some of the best songs he's ever written.

The more uptempo songs are great, but where this album is really hitting me is in the slower / slow-ish songs. Etta James is astoundingly good. The title track is incredible and those horns are glorious. I don't see where people are saying Proof of Life is weak at all, to me it is a highlight and brings to fruition a sound/style he started going for on Painkillers.

I know this is super early and the people who love Elsie more than me may call for my head, but right now as a whole work this is looking like the best thing he has done since American Slang. I really feel like the combination of Brian Fallon and Ted Hutt in the studio makes some kind of magic.

Listened on the way to work. So damn good so far. Much needed as I'm avoiding sports radio for as long as they're talking Super Bowl.

I think "Little Nightmares" has got to be my favorite so far. The way it rolls into the pre-chorus and then the big driving chorus is such a good little piece of songwriting.

It's kinda weird, the verses remind me of Blink-182. Like, just in the pace and the structure of them.

I dont hear it in the verses as much but I can totally here it in the outro of the chorus' and then the bridge after the small acoustic part.

I concur, fantastic read. Sheds a lot more light on the Get Hurt era and what they were all going through. The more little tidbits we get from Brian are really illuminating what has gone into this hiatus. I feel like there were able to avoid huge blowouts and fights and all that but it sounds like only barely and only because they seem like good friends who communicate well.

When you see how much work goes into being the principal songwriter in a band that seems to really split all creative decisions 4 ways and keeping everyone happy and wanting to continue the whole crazy operation you can see why so many bands break up.
