Relistening to Major/Minor today and oh boy do some of those songs land with a thud. I don't like Blinded, Cataracts or Blur at all. When looked at as a whole, still a good album, but probably would rank fairly low on my ranking of all of Thrice's albums.

Man I love Blinded and Blur. The only song that doesn’t really do it for me on Major/Minor is Cataracts.

Blinded is one of the only major minor songs I love

Anthology, Disarmed, Words in the Water are good to me.

I hate dumping on Major/minor since the guys were at their lowest point, personally and professionally. Parents passed in the worst ways imaginable, and the band had to make a record (and tour it) knowing that Dustin was departing for MH at cycle's end. But, thank God it wasn't their final record.

Cataracts is one of my favorite Thrice songs lol. Such an interesting song for them and love the drumming in it. I also love M/M though and don't get any complaints, it holds up to the rest of their discography and added some of their best songs.

Major/minor gave us one of Thrice's best songs they've written, Words in the Water. Other than that though it wasn't great, the overly religious lyrics kind of ruin a few of the songs, but I still enjoy the album.

The smartest thing they did upon their reunion was eventually drop "Anthology" from the set list. The song represents THRICE's farewell back in 2012. I vividly remember the audience getting bummed out by it at their first show back. Plus, "The Long Defeat" is a great closer now.

My favorite M/M songs were Yellowbelly and Promises. Everything else was hit or miss for me.

They played "Cataracts" at their first show back. It really affected me. Unfortunately, they dropped it ever since.

Yellow Belly and Words In The Water are the ones that have really held up for me over time

Hot Take: "Yellow Belly" – despite a cool riff and bridge – is a slog.

I love M/m front to back. Seriously, I can listen to it on repeat. So many powerful moments on the record. I love how gritty and dynamic it is. The hate for it confuses me deeply. Rhythmically I think it is their best record (thinking bass/drums/Teppei's rhythm guitar). Definitely my favorite work Riley's ever done.

I don't expect people to agree with me on those thoughts, just felt that way for me upon revisiting those three songs. To be fair, though, M/m is my least-listened to Thrice album. After a couple spins when it first came out, I latched on to my favourites (Yellow Belly, Promises, Call It In The Air, Words in the Water, Listen Through Me as my top five). Anthology is great, but it felt like a great capstone for their career to-date at that time and isn't a song I go back to frequently.

I don't know if it's changed, but it seemed like Call It In the Air was many peoples least favourite song when the album first came out. I super dig it, so maybe I'm odd.

Call it In the Air is a hot garbage trash song. It is BARELY sit throughable when I put the album on.

While I agree the song played perfectly as a closer on their not so farewell tour, I completely disagree it always needs to be associated with that and can't stand on it's own.

They played the song before that tour and it was a great song since the album dropped.
