I've never had a streaming service and out of the blue last week, my wife signed us up for a family premium plan to Spotify and I feel overwhelmed and anxious. Like, I'm scouring to find new music, but if it doesn't hit me instantly, I move onto something else - because I can - and I'm not a big fan of that because some of my favorite albums of all-time are albums that didn't hit me right away.

youll figure out a system that works for you eventually. switching to streaming services feels overwhelming at first, and in the beginning youll be like a kid who in a candy shop who has been told they can grab whatever they want. but eventually youll start to pace yourself and it wont be much different than before (at least thats how it was for me, everyones different ha)

My goal has been to check out a new album each day...but then I'm like 2 songs in and go back to candy shop mode.

I did check it out because I saw you guys talking about it earlier but didn't really settle into it. I'll try again later.

Right now I'm listening to Osa Osa, who I hadn't even heard of until 30 minutes ago, but I've been obsessed with Slaughter Beach, Dog lately and Osa Osa was the first 'related artist' listed under SB,D.

I usually will listen to a whole album if I'm listening for the first time, but this is definitely the one downside of streaming. Since you have so many options, you try to listen to everything, and it definitely takes away from fully appreciating and enjoying the albums you do love. Like at this point if I listen to an album for a solid two weeks, it's probably something I consider EOTY worthy. But in a way, it also helps me realize what I truly love and what I just like because it's from someone I think I'm supposed to like. Because at the end of the day, I'm only going to go back to something that really pulls me back. If that makes sense? Like it's not like "oh hey I just bought this CD, I better make a point of listening to it".
