Not sure if anyone could help me out, but I have a question. Up until August of 2017 I lived at home. I'm filling out a housing application and it is asking for my last three years of rental history, but I don't have three years. I listed my current place, obviously, but should I list my mom's place as well? It's asking for landlord and stuff, I obviously didn't have that. Anyways, I really need this spot and I don't want to be declined because of something like this

List your moms place and put it down as living with relatives. As long as your credit score is good it won’t hurt you

 

So, when it asks for how long I lived there should I list my whole life lol

In years, yes. In the end it doesn’t even matter (lol) what you put on there. Underwriters will discover it

 

Kevo’s suggestion was good but maybe list it anyway and put your mom down as the landlord, but with a different name or something?

Like- when I apply for jobs, my last job I worked at my mom was essentially my boss, but I put my step dad as the reference since we don’t share a last name and he isn’t an emergency contact

Depends who the application goes through. If it goes through credit underwriters they’ll catch the different name

Yeah, honesty is key imo. But, I can fib a little bit and say that I lived at home to take care of my grandma or some shit lol. I guess my point is that I have no issue saying that I lived at home, but it asks for landlord and my mom is not the landlord. But when it asks reason for leaving I guess I can explain that

 

My credit score is 590 so if you need a co-sign I have your back
