Dier, Wanyama, Sissoko, Dembele all starting gives us zero attacking in the midfield and it’s showing. Even against a league two side. No possession. Awful.

 

Regardless of the lineup, this team should be embarrassed by that first half. Completely bullied by a shit squad. Deserve to lose.

obviously don't follow them nearly as much now that i don't live there, but they'll always have a place in my heart--but it's really nice to see Udinese not struggling with relegation this season. wish they could go back to that run of discovering young world class talent that kept them near the champions league for those magical years at the start of the decade.

The midfield has declined this year and it’s becoming a problem. Wanyama and Winks have been injured. Same with Dembele, and he’s been struggling at times when healthy. Dier hasn’t been bad but I do see somewhat of a drop off in his play this year. And I think Sissoko would be much better in this formation. He wouldn’t be forced into play as high where he typically struggles.

Dele and Eriksen are both good enough defensively to play more of a midfield role rather than up with the attack. It’d give us more creative play in the midfield which has been the biggest problem so far this season. Wanyama would be playing the deeper role like he typically does. And then the pace and creativity from Lucas and Son on the wings would take pressure off Kane.

To me, it looks like a much more balanced team.
