Championship play off semi final first leg: Wednesday 2-0 Brighton

Absolutely delighted with how we played tonight. High intensity football from the start. We scored two cracking goals. Completely out performed Brighton on the night.

Monday night away at Brighton will be the real test. We have to be as solid as we were tonight. The work rate from the midfield needs to be as high and we've got to really restrict Brightons chances. Hopefully our away crowd will make a load of noise and spur the players on.

Will be a nightmare if we concede first though. Feel the panick might set in. A third goal would essentially kill the tie off.

  2. So apparently Las Vegas FC is a thing and Ronaldinho is playing for them tomorrow. I will definitely be going to that.

I think whoever they're playing is supposed to have Ronaldo (the original) playing for them too

  4. I haven't seen that but they have Adriano

that's it, I knew it was one of them

Corruption I'd guess. Probably made it easer historically to get the result the regime wanted if the games were staggered.

I really like the new font work and 'look' for the Football League next season. I think the little man (and the dots will probably look bad on plenty of kits as well) inside of the numbers is overkill but overall a huge upgrade from the ugly look of the current font.

George Weah's son is a US underage international apparently. He just signed a contract with PSG.

The prostate cancer sign (little man) is fine but those dots are fecking awful.

So Hull are coming back up. Ugh I just want a new team up.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

It's not a dead cert yet. They have to take on either Brighton or Wednesday still. Isn't that only a single game as well?

Yeah I mean my post wasn't a confirmation, nor was it serious. They'll be in the final against Wednesday and I can't see them losing that.

Last week, multiple results could end up in the title being clinched and teams relegated. This week it's set up like this:

Potential Title Winning Matches, Saturday @ 11am (EST):

Barcelona - Granada (Barca win title with a win, a draw/Real Madrid draw, or Madrid loss)
Real Madrid - Deportivo (Win title with win and Barca loss)

Europa League Positioning Matches, Saturday @ 1:30pm (EST):

Athletic Bilbao - Sevilla (Sevilla is guaranteed 7th; Athletic clinches 5th with win & Celta Vigo draw/loss)
Atletico Madrid - Celta Vigo (Atleti guaranteed 3rd; Celta clinches 5th with win)

Mid Table Nothing At Stake, Sunday @ 6:00am (EST)

    Malaga - Los Palmas

Safe from Relegation Match, Sunday @ 1:00pm (EST)

    Espanyol - Eibar

Relegation Battle, Sunday @ 1:30pm (EST)

Rayo - Levante (Levante officially relegated, Rayo stays up with win and Getafe loss and Sporting loss)
Sporting - Villareal (Villareal officially 4th, Sporting stays up with Getafe loss)
Real Betis - Getafe (Betis safe, Getafe stay up with matching Sporting and Rayo results)

I personally like how it's all grouped together. The madness all at once is great, but this set-up is kinda brilliant.

But if Granada lose to Barca then they could very well go down. So the other teams in the relegation battle have an advantage knowing the result of this game.

Looks like Stuttgart is going down.

Both Granada and Deportivo secured safety last week. La Liga tie-breaker isn't GD, it's head to head GD. It's why Barca had so many options to clinching last week because of holding the head to head breakers with both Atleti and Real.

I forgot head to head results are the tie-breaker. Then it makes sense.

I really like it today because I can focus solely on Barca's match and then have plans the rest of the afternoon, then have free time tomorrow to watch the relegation battle.

I'm just so happy that Eibar managed to stay up again. Delightful story.

Rangers signed Jordan Rossiter from Liverpool yesterday and are in advanced talks to sign Joey Barton today. Huge statement from them going into next season. Call it my bias but honestly think we will win the league next season if this signing comes off

thank fuck barton won't be in the premier league next season.

I beg to differ. They didn't look like scoring in the 0-0 earlier this season and were very lucky to come away from Hillsborough with a point. The Cardiff and Brighton games were our best performances of the season.

Mascherano to Alves to Suarez to 2-0. Insanely beautiful/skilled move.

Just saw this insane stat: of his last 16 shots in La Liga, Suarez has scored on 13 of them.
