This is the first thing I've listened to by him other than ULB and I really like it. "Same Drugs" and "All We Got" especially.

 

Enjoyed this on first listen. Definitely something I'll need to spend more time with.

 

Is that Justin Vernon in the background on "Summer Friends"?

same drugs is definitely the highlight for me but i absolutely love this whole thing. i'm desperate to find someone with a porch so i can take it over and crack a beer and listen to this.

 

That or a campfire sounds perfect

I do feel like it's got two or three too many songs, but I love this. So many damn highlights.

 

On second lesson, I can't remember what I thought were skippable songs before cause this is all hitting rn

Yea this is fantastic. I don't know if I was just a little tired last night. But this is.....amazing

Also in regards to the religious themes/imagery. I attend a non denominational church with my wife. I treat that like this album. The church usually focuses a lot on positivity and putting everything else aside for Christ. They talk a lot about things that every single person can relate to. Regardless of if you are a believer in Christ or not. I think positivity is something anyone can get behind. Like this record.

 

I think I'm on my third listen but this album just constantly makes me smile so much.

I also just really love Future and Young Thug's verses a lot.

 

The vibe here is much warmer than Acid Rap, definitely in line with Surf in terms of just all positive emotions and feelings, even on the sadder songs

I move into a new place with a roof deck on May 31st and it can't come soon enough for this exact reason haha

 

I love when artists engage with faith or with religious iconography in a thoughtful or creative way. The Catholic guilt that inform's Craig Finn's writing for example. And Chance is one of the most intriguing on that front by far.

 

Religious person here - it feels too long to me, too.

 

Yeah that should stop after the pause in the middle imo

 

I think I'm the only person I've seen who doesn't mind that song

 

That was the main problem I had as well, just felt like it went on forever.

I like the song it's just that little gripe with it that could make it better IMO
