Out of curiosity, what exactly is so confusing about them? There are plenty of series where each entry is a separate story. Think of it like American Horror Story.

 

I sincerely wish I was a bigger Pokemon fan.

My favorite hand held RPGs are probably the Mario & Luigi games

 

It's just something about the designs and the overall world that's just so....not for me. I can't quite put a finger on it but just the overall world and aesthetic is just off putting to me. But I'm willing to give FF VI and VII a shot since they're so beloved.

 

Yeah I can agree with that. Idk for some reason I thought the Zelda games developed by Capcom (Seasons, Ages, Minish cap) were looked upon more negatively. Could just be peoples hate for capcom, idk

 

Man, but there are like 13 totally separate worlds! Surely they can't all be off-putting haha. Just keep in mind VI was on the SNES, so it's 2D, and VII was the first entry into 3D with the PS1. Just to set expectations so you know what you're getting into haha. Both of them are phenomenal though.

also XII is better than it gets credit for (that I've seen) but you'd have to track down a PS2, so might not be viable

 

XII has the worst main character, but the world, supporting cast, and story are all excellent.

 

The only FF main characters I've liked out of what I've played are Terra and Lightning honestly which is weird to think about, that I love a series so much but dislike so many main characters in it

 

Theres a co op snapmap in Doom that has a piano, drums and cowbell

 

The supporting characters are always better imo. Celes, Tifa, Rikku

 

Agreed, pretty much every FF has a supporting character I like more than the main character haha

 

I know it's a huge sacrilege but honestly IX looks so lame to me I never gave it a chance. Maybe with the re-release I'll give it a fair playthrough

 

Yeah, more often than not the supporting cast is excellent. I always had a soft spot for Squall and Tidus though haha

 

I wish Square- Enix actually made a Dissidia game for the main consoles. This way they could appease fans of the series regardless of what their favorite game was. Plus, I'd like to have a Cloud vs. Zeska match. Also, a moogle would be an awesome unlockable character.

 

From playing the KH games I've liked all the FF characters that are in those, not sure if that's representative of how they are in FF games.

Tidus seems like the most maligned but he seems goofy and charming to me

 

Vaan is the only bad part of XII

 

They are and they aren't. Like in the main games, Tidus isn't represented the same in the game. And the name is different for Squall, I think in the KH he is referred to as Leon. Overall though it's not a bad intro to Final Fantasy cast of characters.

 

It's weird I feel like I remember them referring to him as both in KH. Or at least referring to him as Squall once (I think Yuffie says it?)

 

You're correct, that did happen. Then he got all correcting like "...it's Leon."

 

Squall and Cloud are probably the most correctly represented in KH considering how often they're just "..."

Also casting Lance Bass as the voice of Sephiroth was the best decision in video game history just for the pure anger it incited

 

It's been so long since I've played the Kingdom Heart series, I had forgotten this happened.

 

Yeah I remember them calling him both and was like "uhhhh, ok" haha. They all seem interesting personality wise but their designs are so strange

 

Huh I wonder why they did that instead of just referring to him as one or the other.

 

Cloud and Sephiroth are the ones I know the most about only because of their reputations. They're pretty cool. Their design and appearance I don't mind
