I really want to finish IX, I got like halfway through like 8 years ago, haha.

 

If you don't love Dark Souls keep trying I swear it'll click

 

That's what I always say, haha. I understand that not everyone has the time or patience but I still really want everyone to stick with it.

 

Then you'll end up like me watching YouTube videos titled "Top 5 Dark Souls-Like Games" and getting a new job to afford a PS4 to play Bloodborne

 

With Dark Souls 1, once I accepted that death is just a part of the experience and not a punishment it really opened up even more for me

 

One of my closest friends gave me FF IX because it was his favorite game and he wanted me to try it, he passed away after and now I'm afraid to start it because that combined with the fact that FF games are usually very emotional has me afraid I'm going to be a wreck the whole time I play

 

My top five FF's are VIII, IX, X, XII and VI

then VII

 

Loving the new Doom so far, it's completely ridiculous and crazy.

 

I've never even played this game, just hung out with someone else while he played, and this scene still gives me nightmares.

 

I got halfway through IX and felt bored, but that was years ago. Maybe i need to give it another try sometime soon.

I always feel like VIII is extremely under-appreciated.

Top 5 for me is:

X,VIII,XI,VII,XII

 

Space scene in VIII is one of my favorite FF moments (basically until they land on Ragnarok which kinda took away from it but everything before that felt so intense)

 

My favorites are VI, VII, VIII, and X.

I tried but couldn't get into IX. It felt like it was trying to go back to its roots, but I think that was part of the problem. After VII and VIII, IX was a bit of a left turn.

 

Does anyone remember Golden Sun

 

I liked the story of VIII but really didn't care for the battle mechanics and leveling system.

 

That's exactly how I felt. It felt just odd to me to go back to the more basic fantasy setting after VII and VIII.

 

Played through this and the second so many times in middle/high school.

 

The draw system was one of their worst ideas ever. I wish VIII would get remade without that awful mechanic.

 

Zelda and Final Fantasy are the two best video game franchises and I still think it's weird / sad when someone tells me they haven't played one, even though it's totally irrational and there are plenty of series I haven't played.

 

I really wish there was a way I could more easily go back and play Illusions of Gaia. really really love that game

 

I have the worst habit of starting Zelda games but never finishing them. To date, I've played nearly every one but have only finished OOT and Wind Waker..

 

I need to finish my master quest run of OoT. And also pick up the MM remake, and like every other DS zelda game, I've fallen off pretty hard on those

 

Zelda series is great. I've always been a big fan of the lore in addition to just the games themselves.

FF just feels so confusing, especially since they're all different from each other. Not slagging it off or anything, just not for me

 

FF's are probably the easiest jrpgs to jump into bar Pokemon.

 

also speaking of zelda, idk the common consensus on it, but Oracle of Seasons might be my favorite of the entire series (that I've played). So many good memories of playing that game.

 

I love that game so much. I don't think it's "the greatest" per se but it's probably my favorite as well.
