I don't listen to those types of music for that particular reason. A big part of my music enjoyment is understanding the lyrics. I listen to some bands that feature screaming, but the type of screaming where I still understand what they say.

lyric sheets exist for a reason. i find that a weird reason not to listen to something.

I mean, even when I listen to the song while checking the lyrics, I have difficulty actually hearing the words I'm reading while he sings. I just hear some kind of mumbling buried in the music. I actually didn't even notice somebody was singing in that part until I listened to it with the lyrics.

we're getting into some weird territory here with hearing "mumbling" concerning a nigerian artist but ill drop it

Burnas verse is so good and you don't need lyrics to understand most of it wtf lol 'mumbling'

I create content for some of your favorite artists

do we know if what they scrapped last year were the same songs as we what got just not fully formed, or a different set of songs they weren't feeling?

Burna's verse might be my favorite part of the song. I find the rest to be challengingly repetitive.

Burna might have a better feature than Lil Wayne, tbqh. Close one.

Eh, like I said, to each their own. For me it's definitely the worst part of the album.

English is not my primary language, so it might play a part in me having more difficulty discerning his words, I don't know.

I think Stay Frosty existed in some form, as Patrick said he “fought for that song”. I also assume Sunshine Riptide stuck around since they mentioned “Sunshine Riptide” in the initial poem at the album announcement. I think it’s safe to say that Last of the Real Ones, Hold Me Tight, Wilson, and Church were the highlights of the “new batch”. Not really sure where that leaves Heavens Gate or Bishops.

I believe Patrick said something about taking the time to get good takes and performances or something like that and I chuckle to myself picturing Pete trying to get the Church bass part down

in my mind it was 100% pete trying to get the sunshine riptide bass part right lmao

I'm glad Pete has moved beyond playing all of his basslines on one string though lmao

Sunshine Riptide is a definite highlight for me. That chorus is fantastic. Church has really stuck with me as well.

Currently there's only Heavens Gate, which I really am not liking, and Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) which aren't clicking for me. The "I'll stop wearing black when they make a darker colour" lyric might be one of my least favourite they've ever done, but the whole song just isn't clicking for some reason.
