I did that leading up to Boyhood. It's (mostly) fun!

    Just skip Fast Food Nation.

Fast Food Nation is a weird movie and it's even weirder that he made it.

I don't even think it's his worst one.

Suburbia is lowkey amazing though and I wish more people would see it.

I forgot about the Newton Boys. What a boring movie.

Richard Linklater has been on such a roll lately that it is easy to forget how anonymous and generic much of his filmography is.

I don't think any of its generic completely.

I don't think it's fair to say most of his filmography is generic and anonymous just because of the few studio movies he's made.

Newton Boys is one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

His bad news bears remake is underrated. Come at me.

SubUrbia is great and makes me wish Giovanni Ribisi had more to do

What a great movie this is. Becoming a go to “throw it on” movie. Coupled with Edge of Seventeen for the best teen comedies in a decade or so. And Blake Jenner is the most boring part of both

I love how the plot barely progresses at all for the entire first half. You anticipate Zoey Deutch’s arrival in the same way boring boy does.

The framing device of hopping from bar to bar mirroring a person’s changing personas in young adulthood is fantastic. Love the punk club

I feel the exact same way about this as a “throw it on” movie. In fact, I’m drunk rn and am going to watch it because what else would I rather watch? Nothing, that’s what.

I just realized I haven't seen the new Linklater. I completely forgot that it even existed.

I think Blake Jenner is fantastic in both films.

I mean at least in this he’s a blank slate to project your own nostalgia on. It works for a Linklater film

God, the scene where they are in the car singing Rapper’s Delight on the way to the bar is the moment I knew I was completely on board with this movie.
