I draw the line at like shock value type stuff. I'm not a fan of that band Slaves (they may have finally changed that name) but if I was I wouldn't wear any of their stuff. Or Pre Occupations back when they were Viet Cong, that seemed insensitive. I like Big Black but uuuh you'll never catch me wearing one of their shirts bc Steve Albini def toes the line w a lot of lyrics

 

I don't know if one exists lol

Listening to Ariana was a good choice this morning

 

Looks bougie and like a weird gentrification thing so I don't trust it but the pictures don't look bad

That being said I'll eat gross stuff sometimes so who knows

 

i have one shirt with profanity on it, which i only bought because it was a tribute shirt to a comedian i love who passed away (rip harris wittels), wore it once out in public and felt so self conscious about it i never wore it out again.

 

I don't like the name, sounds like an urban dictionary thing, and I can't tell if the tacos are too fancy

 

velvet taco sounds like a bad band name

 

My favorite story is someone in high school was wearing a Kill Hannah shirt and some stranger said " my daughter's name is Hannah" or something like that

 

"and please do"

Yeah... I asked my boss to set up a separate site for me so I'm playing around with that right now. But like, idk how this stuff works lol

 

I never thought Slaves was as edgy or weird a band name as people here do. They are a bad band and awful people, but the band name is fine imo

 

Also I had a interview last week for a killer position and they said they would let me know middle of this week but nothing yet. Feeling anxious

 

I used to have a hoodie with the lyrics "Tie me to the bedpost" by Eve-6 on it. That was always interesting to wear.

 

I didn't know it was a thing here, but feel like it's weird for a bunch of white dudes to use that as a band name. What makes them awful people? I assume it's unrelated stuff, I don't know much beyond the band name and their demographic

Well I feel like the word "slaves" itself is pretty innocuous. It's not specific, and it's a word that is regularly used in a non-literal sense. When I hear the name, I don't think it's directed to a particular group, it's just a weird.

It's Jonny Craig's band, so if you know anything about him, it's all bad

 

Not to mention some way worse, more recent stuff but yeah
