  1. I still like TFA more than RO, but dammit this movie is so great! Better every time I watch it.

    I'm not brave Prestigious

Still have only seen Rogue One once tbh, but it being added to Netflix is a good reason to change that. I did enjoy it, although TFA is a lot better in my eyes.

Absolutely. The shots of the death star are stunning. The deep greens of Lah'mu are gorgeous too, especially with the contrasting Krennic in white and the black stormtroopers.

Yeah the opening is gorgeous. Composition is perfect. And the sets nail the "lived in" future look that the OT had.

Do it! I hadn't watched it since the first time in theaters until a few weeks ago, rewatching it made me really fall in love with it.

No matter how many times Netflix has put this in the “Because You Liked Mad Men” section of my recommendations, I haven’t had an interest in rewatching this at all.

Rogue One was decent. I put it over the prequels, but that’s it. The characters were very thin and it greatly hurt the movie, especially that first hour or so. It makes their deaths less impactful and just lowers the tension for all of that. The droid was the most human character, and that’s a problem.

Third act is great and will stand as some of the best space fights they’ve done for a long time. Vader sequence was super fun.

When I rewatch it, I’m just killing time until the third act. It’s hard to say it’s a great movie when that’s the feeling I have.

I’ve already seen TLJ more than I have Rogue One and I own RO on Blu-ray.

Pretty much how I feel. Though, I liked Churrit and Baze as characters as well. They are the only human characters I feel for when they die. Overall though, the performances saved what would have otherwise been really, really dull characters. I think they did very well with casting.

I mean, I found things to like about most of them... but there was just something missing.

  24. Strongly agree. I wanted to love this movie, especially after loving TFA, but it just didn’t do it for me.

Definitely some interesting concepts but not executed well.

To me, it’s extremely similar to Edwards’ Godzilla in that it has some truly breathtaking visuals but the human element falls flat.

I think the movie very much reflects what Edwards himself said was his vision for the movie. He said they had specific visuals and shots that they wanted to execute and built the movie around that. That’s totally makes sense to me. I’m sure a lot of what’s good about Rogue One was in those ideas, sadly the minor stuff in between those shots (you know, the actual movie) is just kind of there and is clearly not a priority for the film.
