Well, one would assume they’d contrast the rhetoric with the actual reality of their paycheck not changing in the past decade. I think I’m the only one here who has gotten consistent wages and that’s only because they started me lower than everyone else. Ha.

 

Why is he a year into his presidency still talking about trade deals that he's done nothing about?

 

There's some economic/behavioral theories about how the actual money number doesn't matter as much once people are used to a certain level of living and they crave something like stability more. Making 50k a year, with good insurance, and thinking the economy is strong, and will continue to be, for another 20 years, I've seen theorized as being more influential than a steady rising paycheck that comes with more "uncertainty" in the long term possibilities.

I dunno. The whole thing is weird. People are irrational as fuck. (Including me.)
