  1. One tweet about DACA. In September of 2017.

    Let's talk about "crickets."

  2. The video...assholes.

  3. Two tweets about CHIP.

Oh, wait, those are actual chips.

But yeah, "crickets" and "the resistance is bullshit."

So sick of these half-assed YouTube 'celebrities' being the new generation of full of shit talking heads. They wanna rile up the people that follow them, not actually even try to make things better.

ok let's forget that only 7 congresspeople voted against raising the military budget then

  6. Who said anything about "forgetting"? I'm talking about denigrating an entire movement of hundreds of thousands of people right now as "full of shit" and saying something as stupid as: "When it's time to actually resist you hear crickets" — because there's a focus on something very important right now, and that same thing is something that said person has completely ignored and actually said nothing about.

Or that immigration law was sadistic under democrats. My concern with the resistance that's being mocked is that they aren't just resistant to Trump and the obnoxious wing like him. I welcome the sudden fierceness in opposition to things like an inhuman immigration law system and exploiting public land for fossil fuel development, I just want accountability for when the power shifts to people who talk better.

So, before I get quoted, I'm not one who mocks the resistance, I think its great, but I'll continue to oppose democrats as I have before when they're despicable.

  9. Regardless of who said what about what, Democrats, both representatives and citizens, are fundamentally nationalist, and value American lives and rights above foreign ones. This is reflected in the #resistance at large. Foreign policy as it effects anyone but ourselves is always a secondary concern, if that

  11. The biggest push and advocacy in the #resistance right now is literally reflecting the exact opposite.

  13. This is apparent in the American left too, of course. You just have to look at relative concern (of which I am guilty) for our bombing of a Syrian airbase with no casualties versus our bombing of any other target in Syria with thousands dead. The former is a potential prelude to American ground troops in combat in Syria, where they could die, the latter is done by drone.

  14. It's an attempt to protect a subset of a subset of immigrants at risk of deportation. Noble, but hardly universalist

You know why i'm annoyed at the so-called mocked "resistance"? because most of them are the same people who have been cheering on the deportations of my people because of their voting patterns, even though there's hardly any of us that even EXIST on this Earth, let alone the US. they're further oppressing and isolating a minority group that's constantly faced genocide and displacement, and when they've been largely ignored and dismissed by society and have literally no power or privilege, you'd think it'd be obvious and wise to have some "empathy and compassion" that "liberals" should be known for. but of course not, we get scapegoated by people who otherwise are the ones supposedly crying about racism and other forms of discrimination, yet actively celebrating mine.

These "resistance liberals" are also deflecting from our continued genocide by saying "What about Christians in America dying from gun violence?" What a pathetic and tone-deaf analogy. I called out this asinine analogy and they told me "outrage is finite" - what a privilege and what horrific dehumanization. I told them how hypocritical they were and if I were to "whataboutism" their concerns, they wouldn't like it. OFC, they had nothing to say. I later checked their profile and they retweeted something that blamed "the far left that was too pure to vote for hillary".....yes, in January 2018.

RE: The deportations and our persecution and how liberals respond to it - I researched this thoroughly and blogged about this and even linked to articles and tweets with horrific comments to show how heartless these people are, and I've had to argue with these same people, with their literally diseased western-centric takes. This is endless and we can't reduce this to just "some people online", they have these thoughts and it actively impacts how they think about people and the world. and they carry that with them in everyday discussions. it further erases the generational trauma and angst of people like mine that's casually dismissed or whataboutism'd in favor of nonsensical responses that otherwise would be lambasted if directed at any other recognized marginalized group. This isn't some personal anecdote, otherwise this wouldn't be how MENA minorities felt at large. I see it all the time.

They never cared about people like me, never will, and neither do the people who defend them. FWIW I don't think Kyle gives a shit about me either, but at least he's not kissing the dems' ass. I don't see what the incessant need to defend any politician or party is either. It's just not something I'm interested in. My political apathy is out of a lack of faith in the system, not out of any privilege that I may have (which is very little.) It's been bipartisan for over 30 years to engage in this foreign policy.

No they aren't. Most of them are people that don't even own a Twitter account and are people calling Senators on their way home from work, and have never "cheered" for the deportation of anyone. There's hundreds of thousands of these people doing this daily. I watch the traffic on the tools I've helped build. This is just not true.

No Jason I'm talking about the broader effects of western-centrism, the larger pattern about how people think about the Middle East and religion, and how that reflects in their thinking and thus every day conversations. This is why there's a disproportionate response, even if it's "just people on twitter" to groups like me as opposed to others. There's also a huge defensiveness among my community that I don't see in others that's actively hostile to most ideas deemed left of center, and that's accumulated over decades of people like us trying to reach out only to be met with dismissal as if we're inconvenient. It's actually telling how many people both on this forum and off it have said they "never thought about this before" (and I personally find that important).

  25. OK, then say that if that's what you're talking about. What you actually said, and I responded to, is not true. I'm responding to the words you wrote which are literally the definition of a logical fallacy and factually untrue: Most of the #resistance are not cheering deportations.
