im listening to the panopticon side, this is so great. his guitar playing is mesmerizing, great riffage and texture.

yeah i always roll my eyes at people who complain about long tracks now, welcome to metal or post-rock or ambient or electronic where its encouraged to make sprawling tracks that have their own movements

 

Between this thread and the dance thread I decided to wake up my whole street this morning.

 

Yeah this is basically me when I see a song on a tracklist that's like 7-10 minutes long. I'm like "Oh yes let's do this"

 

I'm cool with 10 minute tracks, but when the full album is like 75-90 minutes i often start to lose my concentration

Show Me A Dinosaur is really good. Love that the metal moments are used more sparingly than some bands. it causes those sludgy black metal crescendos to be all the more powerful when they do hit.
