This is technically true, even though the Oilers wouldn't have picked Barzal anyways from what I understand. I imagine the scout who had a hard on for Reinhart was fired out of a cannon into the sun.

Why someone would ok a trade of a first rounder and a second rounder for an untested young prospect is impossible to guess as I would need to give myself a concussion to get into the mindset.

Except wasn't Crouse highly ranked anyway? Most mocks had him in that range if I'm not mistaken. At least they didn't go off the board 3 times in a row.

yeah crouse was always projected in that range.

I just remember barzal being a top 5 pick and then his stock dropping during his draft year due to an injury and now the islanders are loving life.
