It's crazy that it was a track he had laying around before even doing FFX, it sounds like it was born for that game.

Yup, it's Final Fantasy tradition for most of their protagonists, hence Terra, Cloud, Squall, Lightning, etc

 

The story can be cheesy and superficial, but there is a strong emotional backbone to it all. Man, guess I'm about to play through FFX again for the 4th time after I beat UC4.

 

I'm still on my NSG run, stuck on Seymour pt 2...it's so hard hahaha.

 

I get emotional just listening to To Zanarkand.

 

Sorry to burst the bubble but Tidus comes from the Japanese word Tida, based on the Sun

 

Not sure if we should spoiler tag FF things (y'all haven't spoiled anything of course) so I'll do it just to be safe

Weirdly enough I got most emotional in the scene when the Al Bhed decided to blow up Home and they were singing the Hymn as it blew up

Guys, I JUST finished FFX like, two weeks ago and you're making me want to replay it immediately

Speaking of FFX, it was one of the very first games I really got into and what introduced me to JRPGs. I'm not a super avid gamer, I primarily have been playing sports games like NBA 2k and FIFA for the past few years. WIthout fail, though, I will go back and play FFX every two or three years, and after I finish I attempt to get into similar games. The thing is, though, they never stick for me. I think a lot of it has to do with FFX's turn-based system, which I prefer over the super fast, sorta crazy (to me) combat systems of most games today. Are there any turn-based games that you guys would recommend? I think I'm definitely going to go back and play the Pokemon games I missed out on after Crystal to prepare for Sun/Moon.

 

I need this in my life.

 

PERSONA!!! Just finished up Persona 4 and it's my favorite JRPG since FFX, it's a hybrid between the traditional turn based JRPG combat with the pokemon like persona system (You can switch between personas who have various weaknesses, and fuse the personas to form higher level forms who inherit abilities), and a VN where you grind various social links which allow you to create stronger personas in turn, party member social links also have additional benefits in combat such as follow-up attacks, withstanding fatal blows etc. I can't speak to other entries in the series, but 4 is a fun ride, with an engaging story and never takes itself too seriously, tightly written game.

Can't gush enough over it. The next entry in the series is likely due out for the PS3/PS4 sometime this fall/winter and from the trailers is absolutely drenched in the series signature style. Probably my most hyped release for the rest of the year.

 

I really hate that XCOM 2 is PC only, I really want to play it. Especially with the new DLC coming out.

 

Me too, at first it looks really overwhelming, and to a degree it is. But once you see the system in action, it becomes a little clearer how it all comes together.

 

Played two hours so far.will continue .definitely intrigued by this. Really love the FF franchise, it is something else

 

Anyone got their hands on DOOM yet? Curious for opinions as may pick it up
