I'm sure german clubs prefer getting paid huge money for their players that they can then reinvest in their squad, as opposed to the current bundesliga model of losing your best players to bayern for virtually nothing.

Oh yeah, the old tale that Bayern buys every half-decent player from other Bundesliga clubs. Maybe you just check how many players Bayern bought from other Bundesliga clubs in the last years and compare it with the number of players Liverpool has bought from Premier League clubs. I am sure Bundesliga clubs prefer to keep their players instead of seeing them rot in English sides just because they cannot compete with the wages of Premier League clubs.

It's not that bayern monopolizes talent(though that's mostly the case), it's that they're able to do so cheaply. That hurts their competition two fold, stripping them of their best talent and not enriching them in a manner that allows them to easily replace those players, let alone improve the squad.

Nearly every player we've bought in-league, we were accused of paying too much for.

Keita is going to rot huh? You sound bitter. I'll chalk it up to the fact it threatens bayern's model.

What's stripping Bayerns competition of their best talents are mostly English clubs (see Keita, Sane, Gündogan, Kolasinac, etc.). Again, check how many players Bayern bought from Bundesliga clubs in the last years.

I pity you. But you bought them nonetheless.

The "rot" part was obviously exaggerating. I'm not bitter at all. I don't like it that many talents leave the Bundesliga and most of them end up in the Premier League nowadays. It would be better if they'd stay and keep Bayerns competition strong. That would be more benificial to the league and to Bayern aswell.

Keita and Sane went for a lot of money. And if they hadn't, it likely would've been a matter of time before they made their way to Bayern at a cut rate. At least these clubs are being infused with record fees when they sell these players now. They have more options should they choose to sell and the money they get in return gives them a means to improve that they didn't have prior.

You can't argue that our purchases were both unfair and too generous.

I'm sure you'll feel devastated when Bayern sign Goretzka on a free and get Brandt for 20 mil in the summer.

I must admit, I generally can't stand Bayern (and not because I'm an Arsenal fan), but I don't think it's their fault that every other team in Germany is a bit crap compared to them.

Cyle Larin to Besiktas apparently is happening.

And Atlanta broke the MLS transfer record at 15m for an 18 year old named Barco yesterday.

Curious if that’s any indicator of Almiron going abroad.

Going to be very interesting to see what happens with the Sanchez / Malcom thing going on. Looks like Arsenal have a free run at Malcom and are going for him. Still a little sceptical about our interest in Sanchez. Still a ways to go for both, wonder what will happen.

Jesus Chelsea are lucky buggers. Chilwel gets two yellows for two tackles in 5 minutes. Kante has been fouling all game and the ref refuses to show a second yellow.

  21. Everton looked awful yesterday. I know they’ve struggled this season overall but I was still surprised with how terrible their performance was yesterday.

No Sanchez or Özil today for Arsenal. Arsene says Sanchez's future will be resolved imminently

There's a rumour going around twitter that VVD suffered a serious injury in training.

Just a hammy according to Liverpool
