I got into Zelda in the strangest way. I rented OoT from blockbuster once blindly not knowing what it was, and thought it was OK, but my younger sister (like 8 or 9 at the time) loved just breaking the pots, so when we returned it, she ASKED for the game for her birthday, so my parents bought it for her, and when she realized there was so much more to the game she decided she didnt like it so i said screw it i'll play it and figure it out.

Forever grateful for my 9 year old sisters ignorance.

i honestly dont think the water temple is as bad as its made out to be? the iron boots thing is annoying on the N64 version, but other than that, awesome temple.

yeah, as a kid Ocarina was hard. the only zelda game that is actually hard for me as an adult is Majoras Mask. i dont even know why.

Yeah having to constantly raise and lower the water level and put on/remove the iron boots gets me all turned around lol

I don't know if this is a thing people already knew but I just discovered that if you go into a shrine and don't take a weapon that you find in a chest, if you leave and go back in, it could have a different ability than the first time you found it.

Like for example, a chest had a great flameblade with long throw but I left it there because I didn't want to drop any weapons I already had. I went back to make sure it would still be there and the second time I opened it, the flameblade had increased attack.

Went to the castle and got fucked up by a Lynel like 15 times in a row this morning. Although, I didn’t have much health or anything to heal with. Probably giving up on it for now so I can do more shrines and get more hearts, and ingredients. Also started working my photo compendium finally. There’s still so much left that I need to do in this game.

got completely wrecked by a Lynel the first time i fought one (i think on Ploymus Mountain)
after a certain point i really just managed to master the dodging/parry maneuver and now i have no natural predators in the game and have become the top of the food chain in Hyrule

I’ll be honest, after I upgraded my stasis to being able to stop enemies, I like rarely die fighting big enemies. Or at least die significantly less. I found that getting the status upgrade / master sword are the biggest game changers in BOTW

tbh, i never used stasis against enemies. i also never used magnesis to use objects to fight enemies. i always just ran in swinging!

I never use magnesis to drop stuff because i think it’s too hard to drop it in the right spot. Don’t know how you don’t use Stasis against enemies. Stasis + Master sword against guardians is GG

with the guardians, i typically just use ancient arrows to take them out. after 175+ hours, i've got plenty of arrows to spare :)

i take down guardians swiftly and quickly now, maxed out the entire ancient armor set and master sword/stasis.

trying to get better at lynel hunting but man i cannot even handle the white lynels.

Yep I just did this. Opened the chest, it was a Royal Claymore with +17 Attack, left and came back in and the Royal Claymore had a durability upgrade instead.

I also didn't know that every blood moon the guardians in minor/modest/major test of strengths re-spawned as well. So easy to farm for cores to get those ancient upgrades.

There’s a white Lynel to the east of the leviathan skeleton in the Eldin region. There were pillars I could hide on shoot it with arrows and drop remote bombs on it. I got It down to half health and then fought it. I probably would have been toast otherwise lol.

Is the Lynel that drops from the ceiling outside Hyrum castle white? I can’t remember

nearly shit myself when that happened because i wasn't expecting it. i don't remember what color it was but i was able to defeat it just by firing arrows into it's face with the barbarian armor and an attack+ bow haha
