Alive or Just Breathing is great, crucial album to young me, but the Howard Jones albums just resonated with me more. I can't get back into the new Jesse stuff, except for "In Due Time"

 

Jesse's new stuff does nothing for me. Though, my patience for them was already dwindling with As Daylight Dies. They got comfortable with their sound and it got stale.

 

Who wants to do bracket predictions?

Thinking someting like:

would be reasonable

Round 1: 1 point for getting the team, +1 point bonus for getting who gets the fall
Round 2: 2 points for getting the team, +1 point bonus for getting who gets the fall
Round 2.5: 2 points for getting who wins the second change
Round 3: 3 points for getting the team, +2 point bonus for getting who gets the fall
Round 3: 5 points for getting the team, +3 point bonus for getting who gets the fall

 

I remember seeing All That Remains and thinking they did the KSE sound really well and then they put out some shitty cock rock. Wanted to see what they were doing as of late and found this fucking banger.

 

Yeah that is true. I kinda forgot about the new ones for a sec. I guess for me, it would actually be old Jesse > Howard > new Jesse. On some level I still enjoy most of their stuff though. AOJB and EOH being their two best overall albums.

 

I used to really like ATR, first 3 albums, solid, "Overcome" was okay, some good jams on it, but then I saw them live and they were awful, always thought their singer was a douche too

 

There was a point with Howard was sick that he took over vocals and I was not cool with that. lol. But stuff like Weak Willed, The Air That I Breathe and This Calling are still on my workout playlists. Those guys are bangers.

I actually ran inso Jesse at a Wage War show in Brooklyn. Apparently he lives there, he was there for a smaller punk show in the same venue. The guy in front of me in line told him he looked like Jesse and he said “that’s because I am Jesse” and the both of us spoke to him for a bit

Yooooo. Blindside's last two records were really fucking good. About a Burning Fire has so many fucking jams.

 

Blindside is still one of my favorite bands. They changed their sound gradually over the years and never disappointed me. Great live band too. Saw them perform "Silence" in its entirety a few years back for an anniversary tour. Amazing.

 

i was just sitting here and reminiscing about the old times... hey remember when Triple H pedigreed Angle/Shane and they didn't follow up on it (or have decided to not follow up on it for months) and instead of using the SS angle to put someone on the roster over, all it did was...nothing. Maybe Strowman face turn but I mean, there's literally a trillion ways to do this.

I'm so glad I got the see Anterrabae play a show with the original singer. That second album was kinda dookie.

 

Two friends of mine and I would go to Bloomfield Ave Cafe to see them all the time because they were on like every hardcore show that came there, yeah, the second album was lame, I got it for free when I worked at FYE

 

I had a love/hate relationship with Bloomfield. I loved it because I could jump on stage. I hated it because the dude from Waking the Cadaver frequented it.

 

I don't understand how this fan vote is going to work in the MMC. There's an even number of teams... So does this just spoil the fact that there's going to be shenanigans and one of the teams that makes it to the third round won't actually compete?

 

that bracket is really strange. like the 4 strongest teams are all in the top part of the bracket.

ill figure out a scoring system sometime tonight but is this shit really lasting 3 months? past WM? lol

 

12 teams so: 12 in round 1 -> 6 in round 2 -> 3 in round 3

they need a fourth team to make round 3 even

 

theres 12 teams

so it goes 12 > 6 > 3. You need to have an extra team voted in to balance it out
