I listened to the first three acts of The Dear Hunter yesterday.

This inspired me to begin to write a journal to give to my future children.

Eventually I'm going to structure it as a secret rite of passage website and leave room for my children to add their stories and thoughts to hand-down to their children.

Meant to get to this earlier.

This all sounds exhausting emotionally and physically and I feel terrible that you and your son have to go through that. I hope things get better for before long, but even if they don't I know you'll be there for your son and truly that's what matters in this situation.

I’ve sent my daughter off to throw things away or go find something just to sneak a bite of candy in without her noticing

My son's vocabulary is finally coming around lately. Anyways he tends to say the word paper with like a French accent for some reason and it cracks me up every time.

Anybody else have stories of their children saying things incorrectly that are just funny or anything?

My daughter for a long time would say "die!" instead of "bye!" Also, when the baby is eating she says she's eating milk from mommies boop, and told some of the parents at her daycare that.

My kid is currently saying "what's that?" to just about everything, but sometimes he does it with the most insane lisp I've ever heard. It's strange because sometimes he says it without it, but the others, it's the funniest over-exaggerated lisp. It's adorable though.

Well on that note, my wife and I found out she was pregnant in October. We announced it New Years Day on Facebook with this video:

My son lately has been saying "I want/I watch" followed by "Okay" and a head nod and holding up 1 finger when he wants something or wants to watch something as if he's convinced you've already agreed to it. It's pretty adorable and hilarious as well.

So tell me something awesome Supporter

My youngest kid's new thing is asking for something like to go get some kind of food or some toy, and when I say "We don't have enough money" he then wanders the house grabbing coins and brings em to me going "We have money now! Let's go!"

Thanks! My son is two years and three months old now. We're due in early July and we find out the gender next month. I'm really antsy about it this time around because last time we found out we were pregnant much later into the pregnancy than this time. It feels like it's taking forever.

    That's adorable!

That child's sense of the value of a dollar is funny.

Nice, congrats! We also announced on NY but we're due in April. For some reason I was thinking your son was older. My son is also about that age (Sept 22), they both seem like big kids though based on that video haha.

I totally know that feeling though, the waiting game is no joke and flies by like no other!

Yeah, my son definitely takes after my brother in-laws physically. I'm a beanpole, but they're big, cut guys. Ephram has my wife's family's head shape (I'm more of a football) and looks just like her when she was his age. He's all her side of the family physically save for a few features, but I'm still his favorite. He just loves me to death and it's the absolute best. He's also been insanely verbal from the get go. We could never get him to stop babbling. He knows all his colors, knows his animals, can count to twenty, knows the whole alphabet, knows how to spell his name, looks at posters and pages and points out the letters while trying to figure out the word, etc. It's crazy. For a while our pediatrician thought maybe he might be on the spectrum a bit because he would get so focused on certain things, but no. He passes all the tests for that, makes solid eye contact and doesn't refer to himself in the third person very often. Mostly when asking questions like "Is this...Ephram's?" He's been behind physically (due to an issue with his neck when he was in the womb) so the pediatrician thinks he likely advanced verbally instead. Kid's got a big head so it makes sense. It's crazy to look at him when we sit him down next to his cousin who is only five months younger. It's startling. My nephew is all my side of the family so he's short and thin and he's got that oval football head. My son is this big chunk, lol.

One of my favorite things recently has been watching him learn to express excitement. Every time we put up another ornament on the tree for Christmas he would shout "Oh wow, daddy, it's so beautiful!" or "Wow, it's amazing!"

I just...want him to stay like this forever. One day he'll be a teenager and I'll be all sad.

Good luck. We’ve had a tough winter. My son had pink eye the week before Christmas along with a sinus infection. My almost 5-month old daughter cutrently has RSV, an ear infection and pink eye. She’s finally getting better after it all started last Tuesday.

    Congratulations @Nyquist!

Today my almost two year old was sitting on the hassock between my husband and me, and he accidentally dropped something and whispered "gah-deem." We both just looked at each other because we know we curse out of frustration, even though we try to catch ourselves.

Also, my four month old full on baby laughed out loud today for the first time!

...and now my son has croup...I’m sleeping on the floor of his room tonight because he’s wheezing pretty bad. Third straight winter he’s gotten it. Ugh.

Good luck with the sick kids, it's awful seeing them sick. Over Christmas break our 2.5 year old daughter had a double ear infection and a cold, which with her asthma makes for a nasty cough. Then a few days later our 2 month old got RSV and we ended up having to spend 4 days in the hospital with her since it turned to bronchiolitis and she was having a lot of trouble breathing. The nurses said this winter has been brutal so far and while we were there I guess every floor had people in the halls because they just ran out of room.
