I was unsure if Lio Rush had been let go or what after his tweeting fiasco, but he finally posted something referencing NXT, so I guess he is going to be back at it soon.

 

i read that he was still doing the Largo shows and stuff at least. I think the last tapings were just bizarre and focused almost solely on the #1 contender and UDE stuff. still can’t believe Dream was written off of them.

After WK, decided to pull up some random matches from the year. Landed on Ishii vs Keith Lee. Wow! When is Ishii gonna get a bigger singles push? Totally deserves it.

 

The show was amazing, I really liked pretty much all the matches, only gripe was I think it was Naito's time to win there. Not mad about it, just think Naito should've took that. KO v Y2J was amazing as to be expected, really loved the Junior Heavyweight match as well.

The headbutt in the Suzuki match, and the snap sound when Scurll supposedly snapped Takahashi's finger really irked me lol.

Sidenote: Don Callis is awesome.

Unfortunately, he's 42. He's never going to have a major title at this point. Not sure there is value in him winning G1. He's a really great stepping stone vet in the same way as Suzuki. They can elevate guys in crazy ways.

 

Ah yeah that’s def a fair point. Didn’t even think about his age. At least we still get to see him regularly. The combination of his strength and intensity make him incredibly entertaining to watch.

 

It’s only 4 days into the year and I think Marty Scurll’s entrance is the best of the year.
