I'm jealous of Europe right now because they have Eurovision. I want to watch a crappy pop song contest too!

I am so fucking about "Lush Life," I can't stand it. Between this and "Into You," I'm just set for the summer.

Article about it with final video, screenshots, quotes

"Trainor admitted that she saw the video before hand, but suggests that she just didn’t notice it had been altered past her demands."

Never cared for Trainor, but I at least appreciated that she was doing something a little different in the pop world with the throwback vibes, but jeeze she totally abandoned that now huh. These two new songs are total generic 2010s pop, what even sets her apart anymore

subbin because I can always use new pop music.

I'm currently into Work From Home(probably helps I'm a huge Ty $ fan) and Dangerous Woman just because I love Ariana a lot.

Not a song I’d recommend to someone just getting into them. For a short list, in album order, I’d say: Salute, Move, These Four Walls, Black Magic, Grown, Secret Love Song Pt. II and Love Me Or Leave Me. Would even throw in Wings and D.N.A. from their first album. I’d also suggest watching any of their acoustic, acapella or mash-up performances. These girls are extremely talented.

They certainly covered Word Up better than Korn.

If anyone is interested, Eurovision's Grand Final is tonight and it's airing on Logo if you have the channel.

and if you're like me and don't get that channel, here's a livestream: BBC 1 Live Stream | Daily Updated

No pressure, haha. Hard to choose because all three albums are fairly different. Black Magic, if you haven't heard it and Salute if you have. Secret Love Song Pt. II for the vocals alone.

Edited to add 'Salute' as an alternative option instead of 'Grown'.

Salute is my favorite album, Get Weird is a grower, and DNA is just okay.

Oh man, I can't pick a favorite when it comes to either Salute or Get Weird. There are some great songs on DNA but it's definitely not an album I'd recommend as a whole.

For me, Little Mix fills that girl group place after Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, and Sugababes/MKS disappeared. None of the other girl groups out right now are impressing me except for Little Mix.

Totally. It's a shame that mismanagement has kept them from achieving the worldwide success they deserve.

kygo released his debut, and im assuming its pretty much going to tank, so maybe everything about tropical house being the next wave to replace edm will end

    It's not a good album.

The only reason I listen to tropical house is because Soundcloud has mixtapes of them and I like them as background music on low while I work

I'm still confused on what tropical house is but I was hoping it'd usher in more tropical music but I don't think they're related? Idk

I thought tropic house was dance hall-inspired electronic music? I remember reading an article about it that someone posted. Probably Ryan.

Yeah, it more or less apes dancehall's style and mixes it with slower-pace house music.

theyre not really at all. its mostly white guys (europeans, to be more specific) using vaguely "island" sounds in house music. steel drums, pan flute, that kind of lazy signifier stuff. its vaguely relaxing and sounds kinda nice next to a pool.

stereogum wrote this about it, which is mostly what i was responding out loud to Kygo, Mike Posner, And EDM’s Soft-Rock Phase

When I'm at work, my Pandora stations are all trip-hop, instrumental electronica, or ~tropical house~ cause it's not distracting while on low volume.
