His beat selection is top notch

 

Being good or not doesn't mean it didn't gain popularity because of the meme aspects, the overtly violent lyrics and joke artist name helped a lot

I'm not sure if he can keep up momentum with a name change, but its probably better for long term goals

Never listened to him as I found his name a bit off putting and there’s always too much new music to dive into an artist I’m put off by. However top notch beats always intrigue me and there’s no reason not to listen to him now

Well I think it's lame to pigeonhole artists as a meme just because their song is funny. Is shmurda a vine artist?

 

I mean that's what he's trying to avoid with a name change, because you do get seen as a joke even if the music is good, and you can only take a joke so far without people getting tired of it.

Yeah he should've changed it earlier if anything, I'm only unsure about the actual name but we'll see if it catches on

I've been enjoying Dedication 6. Nice to hear some of the good beats I liked from songs I generally disliked due to the rap style under a rap style I can get behind.

Also, so far, BROCKHAMPTON has been fun. Thanks for the references.

 

Big Boi is coming to town for $20. I’d have to go alone. Is it worth it? I see he plays a lot of OutKast which would be a huge reason I’d go

 

I'd see pretty much any artist I liked for $20 if I was free that day, especially if it was a hip-hop legend

 

There's pretty much an artist playing in LA every night that I would want to see, I can't be that broke :/
